"Hello, Rajveer Singh," he greeted, extending his hand for a handshake

"Hello, Rajveer Singh," he greeted, extending his hand for a handshake. I hesitated, staring his hand and then his face, questioning whether this was reality or merely a dream. He raised an eyebrow at my lack of response, prompting me to gulp nervously as I extended my trembling hand for the handshake. But before our hands could meet, someone abruptly pulled him away.

"Raj, let's go. I apologize, Dad, please excuse us," the girl, whom Prithvi uncle had introduced as his fiancée, whisked him away.

"Yeh bachche bhi na. Chalo, Tejasswi beta, andar chalo," he said, but I couldn't. Right now, I just wanted solitude. Not here. Not in front of HIM.

"Um, uncle, if you don't mind, could you please ask someone to show me to my room? I need to rest. Besides, the function is ongoing, you should enjoy yourselves," I requested.

"Are you sure, beta? Thodi der ruk jaate yahin," Shantanu uncle asked, and I shook my head.

"No, uncle, it's fine," I replied. They nodded understandingly and instructed one of their servants to escort us to our room. As we walked away, I stole a glance back at him, seeing him engrossed in conversation and laughter, his hand possessively around her waist.

Upon entering the room, I headed straight to the washroom, splashing water on my face. How could this be possible? Rajveer and Sunny look exactly alike. What if he is Sunny? No, no, he is Prithavi uncle's son, and today he's getting engaged. My Sunny would never even think about another girl, let alone see someone else.

Then what is all this? What new game is fate planning to play with us now? Please, don't let it be something I can't handle.

I spent the whole day cooped up in the room, unwilling to venture outside. In the evening, there was a knock on the door. I opened it and, upon seeing her, I assumed she was a servant.

"Good evening, ma'am. Prithavi sir ne apko neeche hall main bulaye hai," the girl said politely.

"Thike tum chalo, main aati hun," I replied with a small smile.

After tidying up my appearance to look somewhat presentable, I stepped out of the room, taking a deep breath. As I reached downstairs, the scene before me made me pause in my tracks. All the family members were seated on sofas, engaged in lively chatter and laughter. Rajveer was there too, reclining with his head in someone's lap while she fed him fruits, and he complained about something. How could I possibly keep my composure around him? How would I manage to face him every time he's near me?

"Ma, aap itna tension kyun le rahi hain? Lagbhag sab ho gaya hai, na?" he said.

"Ma, aap itna tension kyun le rahi hain? Lagbhag sab ho gaya hai, na?," Tanvi, his fiancée, replied.
