After the ceremony of issuing the Loffmors into the guild. All the guild members were free to go home. It was 2:00 AM and Rusty had a long walk ahead of him it was nearly three am by the time he reached his house.
When he entered the house he was surprised to see his 4 year old daughter Lisbeth still up, she was only five and seemed to be panicking.
"Daddy!" she cried when she saw him.
"What?"Rusty asked. He was so confused. Why hadn't his wife Louise put their daughter to bed yet. And by the looks of it his 6 year old son Rickey was still up. Where on earth is Louise? He thought to himself as his daughter started reaching up to him for him to hold her. Rusty then picked up Lisbeth in his big strong arms,"Where's Mommy?"He asked her as he rocked her in his arms. Lisbeth gripped her daddy's arms with her tiny arms, she seemed to be holding onto her father for dear life,"Betty, where's Mommy?"He asked her again, when he realized Betty wouldn't be one to give her an answer she decided to seek out Roger. He put Betty down on the ground, who then attached herself right back onto his leg again. And headed down the hall to Roger's room.
When he got to his room he then realized something. He shouldn't be dragging Betty around like this she was 4 years old! He should've taken her straight to bed as soon as he had gotten home. But no he had to be all cocky and almost drag her to her brother's room after trying to question her. She was only 4 what did he expect! He felt so stupid. He then lifted Betty back into his arms and carried her to her room at the far end of the hall.
Betty's room had pink wall paper and pink floors. She had a big wardrobe with all her cute little outfits and all her accessories. It wasn't a big room but worked for the little girl. In the middle of the room was a small canopy bed. On the bed was tons of the little girl's stuffed animals. Majority of the animals were cats, as cats were her favorite animal.
"Alright,"Rusty said as he laid Betty down onto her bed in the midst of her stuffed animals.
"Daddy,"Betty began, in her small vocabulary.
"Hm?"Rusty asked as he tucked his child into bed. He then handed her Mr. Whiskers, her favorite stuffed cat.
"Mommy's gone,"She told him.
Rusty's eyes grew wide. What did she mean by Mommy's gone? He so badly wanted to take his little girl and shake her till she gave him the answers he so badly wanted. But no, he should not do that, he wouldn't dare scare his child like this. instead he did as any other father would do, or at least what he thought any other father would do. "You see this?"He asked as he pulled his pocket knife out of his pocket.
"Yes, that's a bad thing Daddy,"Betty said as she looked at the shinny knife in her father's hand.
"No, it's not a bad thing, it can be, but not right now, okay?"Rusty explained to his little girl as he sat down on the edge of her bed.
"Okay,"Betty said not asking any more further questions, she was at that age little girls get to where they would practically do anything their parents told them to.
"Dad,"His 7 year old son Rickey said, as he stood in Betty's doorway, he was wearing his blue pajamas with the little trains all over them.
"Yes?"Rusty asked when he realized that it was his son calling out to him.
"Mom's gone,"Rickey stated as his little sister had before, Ricky was chewing anxiously on his fingernails as he spoke to his father.
"So I've heard, where did Mom go?"He asked his son as he got off of Betty's bed. Betty nervously clutched Mr. Whiskers the stuffed calico cat. She seemed to be bracing herself to relive the moment of her Mommy leaving. "Ricky, go to your room, your sister's tired, I'll be in in a minute." Rusty then once his son left the room he closed the door behind him.
