Chris had no idea how she was supposed to 'train' by herself. She had never been a very spiritual person, she hated meditation and yoga and all that stupid shit. She didn't believe in chakras or whatever they were called, and now she had to suddenly become a pro at astral projection basically. This was some bullshit. All Ria had to do was read a book and play around as a sea monster. She was grumpy. And not in the mood for any of it. She knew the old men were helping them out and that was the only thing that drove her to sit down at her desk and open the little notebook that had belonged to Amma. She started reading.
Christine - blocked chakras (Oh boy, off to a great start). Needs to learn how to empty her mind. Once mind is empty there could be a marriage of the Chayal and human states.
Sit in a place without disturbance
Try to clear your mind of thoughts
Separate the physical mind from the spiritual mind
Chris looked up. How the fuck was she supposed to do that. Only step three and Amma had already lost her. She continued reading.
Once the separation is complete the spiritual mind will consist of two parts.
One part will be easy to control
The other will be tiresome
Practice controlling the human mind first - practice by astral projection - move around in the space you are in, move outside of the space, explore the spirit realm.
She stopped reading there, because she knew the next line would say to control the Chayal mind and she knew she wasn't even close to being ready for that.
She decided that she would try the meditation and try to astral project. She had kind of done it before when going to the dungeon, so she should be able to do it in a more controlled way. Theoretically.
She sat on her bed. Legs crossed like the meditation people usually do (she figured every bit of help counts), she closed her eyes. Her mind was buzzing with thoughts of her and Ria, of the two old dragons. She wondered how old they were and what they looked like in monster form, if they were as beautiful as Ria. Then she thought of Ria's eyes. They were so dark and intense and she never got enough of looking into them and oh my god she was supposed to be thinking of nothing so okay. Nothing. White. Blank.
She took a deep breath and tried to concentrate. Pushing the thoughts from her mind, she managed a semi-blank canvas. She tried to imitate the feeling she got when she went to the dungeon.
Falling falling Thud
She landed in the fucking dungeon. It was creepy. The braziers weren't lit, the room at the far end's light was off. It was dark and cold and she really wanted to get out of there.
She focused again.
The falling didn't come.
The cleared her mind. Closed her eyes and tried again.
Nope... no falling.
Great. Now she was not only unable to meditate, she was stuck in the fucking dungeon. She walked to the room at the end and sat down at the table. Wondering if Ria was having any more luck than her.

Ria had been sitting with the book open in front of her for about an hour now, but she'd been reading the same page over and over. Not because it was particularly interesting, but because she couldn't stop thinking about the fun part. The transforming part. That lead her to thinking about how she was going to see Appo transform and wondered how they would work together. Fire and water have historically not been the best of friends. She knew she didn't have a lot of time, and she had A LOT to read.
