Chapter18- 'Be Fair'

I sat at my desk looking at the piles of files I had to review, I never felt so at home in a while. I haven't spoken to my mom either but I knew she was fine, probably off doing some crazy teenage stuff. I opened one of the files and placed it in front of me and was about to get lost when Dom stormed in. "Good morning my stick of honey coated candy pop!" Immediately my head snapped up, it was the happiest I've seen him in a while but his happiness was cut short when Pablo's arm stretched across his chest. "Pablo? This is Dom, my best friend and business associate and... down boy.." I had to chime in, "And who is this loveable hunk?" Dom chipped in before I could finish, "Dominic this is Pablo" he stretched his hand, "Nice to meet you" Then in one motion he gave him a quint and then sprang into the coach.

"So what's the deal with the three stooges?" He asked staring my security up and down. "Welcome back Dom, They are my guards" with guards on emphasis. "Guards? What the hell did you do? I ain't going down for you. Nuh ugh! My ass too pretty to survive the hard life! Literally" He started being dramatic "Will you relax? They came along with everything else" I explained "Word?" he replied with his mouth wide open."

So where's the card? Let me see?" I ruffled through my purse and stretched it to him, I watched as he made the holy ahhhh sound and took it, but I was then distracted by the ringing of my cell phone. "Hello?" "Ms. Foster! So glad you could pick up. You have a meeting at 8 pm at the hotel. You are required to dress nicely, you have the card to assist with that, your outfit has already been chosen so have fun with the rest. Please do not hesitate to make your request of any sort to Pablo or the others. Any questions??", "Yes! How'd you get my cellphone number? And why do I need security? Call off your hounds I don't need them, I can take care of myself!" I listened as the line sounded dead then the female continued "That's not a question Ms. Foster..... I will drop security from three to one. Your vehicle is downstairs in your office building at parking spot #325. Please do not be late! Happy Shopping!!"

I scuffed as I hung up and looked to see Dom still in marvel with the card. "Yes sir!" I swung my head to see two of the guards stepping out of the room, while Pablo stood fast. Dom spoke in amusement "Girl this is a guy!" I responded "No, it's a card" He then responded "No stupid! It's a guy that sent you this, he wants you bad!" he said as he bend eye level with the card spinning it in his hands with fascination. "Don't you have work?" I asked breaking his trance, "Shit aint gotta put a sister out!" I watched as he got up and straightened to leave. "Nah ugh! Tsk tsk tsk, thank you!", He reluctantly handed the card back to me with a pout then said, "I'm gonna have lunch in a few, wanna join?" I chuckled "Sure, why not!" I answered with a smile, "Great!" he replied then spun and left with his nose in the air. "love you too Dom!" He always makes my day.

During our little lunch break, I contemplated a lot about everything that has been happening, I was almost lost in thought until Dom mentioned Demetri, and I listened. "Soooo I saw Demetri today he ask me to tell you he wants to meet you at 6pm at the Winsley....." I froze

"But I already have a meeting there at 8 pm can't it wait?? Besides, After everything I'm not sure I wanna even speak to him......" he jumped in "No baby girl it can't he feels really bad about how everything went down, He never meant to lie to you!" he pleaded and I continued "He didn't need to! All I wanted was honesty, we could've worked through it but everything came in at once and I needed a break!" Dom responded "Don't you think you're being unfair? you never gave him a fair chance to tell you who he was, your only goal was to impress you're family. You we're being fair with, so think about it." I was deep in thought. Dom was right, I was so hung up on pleasing everyone else, I used someone without knowing it but to be fair he was supposed to be an escort. Thinking about all this I reluctantly agreed and Dom was thrilled, "Ok! 6 pm, no later!"
