How long was I out? It was dark, no pitch black to be correct, the windows were covered and the place was more quiet than necessary; unfamiliar. Where was I? Where was this place and how'd I get here? "Demetri! This isn't funny!" I shouted, "Hello!?" No response.

The days following the 'almost' engagement were amazing. I have been pampered and treated better than I expected and knew possible, so the huge question was, where was I? Did I stumbled and lose my way home after a few drinks? But I never had a few drinks! Not since my bump started showing, at least to me but Through all this contemplating the question still remained, where was I!?

I hunkered up to the door and paste my ear to hear what I could and all I heard were random footsteps. "Hello!? Can you hear me? I need help!", Still to no avail. What was going on? I jumped back as a forceful thud hit the door, then it flew open. My mouth had dropped for what seemed like permanently then suddenly tears sprung into my eyes when the realization had hit!

"Good Evening baby" Ryan greeted me with a smile. "What have you done?" I spoke with terror in my voice as I sat peering up at him. "You see you're mine and no one is going to change that. Not you, your mother, or that precious Demetri of yours. Count yourself lucky because you would've lost that finger if you took that ring". he threatened.

"You've been watching me?" I stuttered with tears forming in my eyes, "Yes I have. Mark was a friend of mine too, you should really watch who you drink with" He looked dark, I watched as he reached and came up with a hunter's knife from behind him. Twirling it in his hand, he continued. "Why couldn't you forgive me? Take me back, if I can't have you no one will" Then he hit his head and pointed the knife. "I love you Nessa don't you understand that!" He shouted

I was now scared out of my widths, he looked mentally challenged; unstable! I took time to slowly ease myself back until I was flushed against the wall, then watched as he slowly stooped to eye level with me. "You're mine you got that" I refused to answer. "You got that!" He shouted frighteningly then in one full motion got up and slammed the door on exit. Oh my God! What was I going to do, I had no idea where I was and Ryan threatened to kill me, I should've told Demetri. I can't let him know about the pregnancy or he would kill me for sure, I was in a full-scale panic mode, sweating; panting. "Help me please!" I shouted, "Help!" Where was I? I heard no cars, no voices all I could hear was my own echo. Was I in a concrete empty room? Where, a basement? No couldn't be, an office building? I started feeling around to see what I could find when I killed my toe on a desk. I tried my best to feel for any and everything, I was desperate. I fondled the desk till I found a draw, I opened it then continued my search I felt a small box, was it a match? I smelt it then tried to strike and hallelujah I had some form of light. I continued to investigate and found papers for business transactions, I was definitely in an abandoned office space. I had an idea of what I was doing.

I was snuggled in the corner on the pillow and sheet I was provided with earlier like a lifeline. "Wake up!" I was startled awake as I saw a female about my age slowly entering the room with a tray. She looked timid, she never stared me in the eye. "Please help me!" I pleaded, "Where am I!?" she said not one word.

She turned to leave and I needed to know where I was, I needed a plan and fast, I watched as she fumbled to leave when I quickly shouted: "I need to use the bathroom!" She stopped in her tracks turned to look at me then hurriedly scurried, closing the door behind her. I wasn't hungry, I had no appetite. I started pulling the sheet to my chest. I felt like I was being punished an easy half hour went by when the door reopened, "Come on, get up", It was Ryan. I slowly got up and pulled my dress back in place while cautiously moving forward. "Where am I?" I asked, "Just shut up!" He demanded with a slight push. We walked through the door towards a large room, past a winding stairwell that led up. "Ryan let me go!" I pleaded when he stopped and pointed to an opening, "Bathrooms in there", I watched him as I slowly surveyed my surroundings while heading in. I had to try its either now or never. I exited the restroom with nervous written on my face.

"Ryan? baby?" He looked, "I'm sorry, I never realized how much you really loved me, if you'd like I will take you back, so let's stop this madness and go home... please baby" He paused. I didn't know what his reaction would be so I stood looking, "Walk!" his voice sounded so cold and my efforts had failed.

I think I want to throw up....... I felt so weak, I haven't eaten since I'd been here; day 3. My mind was going insane and my eyelids were heavy from all the crying I'd been doing. Will anyone ever find me? Oh, I wish Demetri was here I would've felt safe; protected. "Good morning" the female had returned, "What is your name?" I asked her, she looked hesitant then replied. "Niyah, Niyah is my name" Then she turned to leave. "Where am I Niyah, please, I'm pregnant!" I said crying again. Niyah stopped in her tracks and then turned with a conflicted look on her face, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" With tears in her eyes then ran out of the room. I was getting weaker by the day and that couldn't be good for either of us.

I didn't know the time of day or night when my eyes popped open. The place was of a constant quietness that had me mumbling to myself a few times. I search the drawer once more for the abandoned box of matches then gathered every paper I could find in the room, I wasn't sure of the outcome but I bundled them together and said a small prayer as I struck the match. I watched as it caught the careless sheets of business proposals, smoking, and crackling, I hope he never smelt it in time, I ran and cowered in my corner as I watch my handy work grow like a hungry monster devouring whatever it caught, There was smoke everywhere! I had achieved my mission, it was a clouded blur of thick grey smoke in a matter of seconds. My eyes watered and burned as I waited for the unknown, looking for what would happen, would Ryan come for me? Would anyone respond? I worshipped my corner as it was becoming a stifle; I coughed and panted. I tried to feel for the walls to make my way to the door but even that became impossible because I was choking. What have I done? I couldn't even cry! The smoke became thicker than ever as it rolled and battered the concrete ceiling. I reached for the door handle but lost all control. I fell to the floor with what little breath I had left, was my bright idea a horrible mistake? Was my final thought as I curdled and held my stomach then just like that.......... I was out.
