Weeks past. Happy and I were on somewhat of an even keel, we bickered and fought and we had make up sex. It wasn't all his fault, I, more guarded than before, harder to reach, quicker to snap, it was a constant push and pull situation. When things were good we were so good, we bantered and poked fun at each other but as soon as Happy went on a run the devil on my shoulder would appear and pick at my insecurities like a healing scab.
I was in the office of Teller-Morrow one afternoon when Jax came in.
"Hey" he said brightly. "How's it going?"
I looked up exasperated with the filing in front of me.
"Honestly Jax I don't no where my head starts and my arse begins" I rubbed at my temples trying the relieve some of the tension.
Jax leaned to one side to peer under the desk.
"Well your sitting on it so I'm guessing that's where it starts and ends"I laughed
"You good though?" He probed again
I smiled up at him from my seat and the desk and nodded.
"Yh I'm good hun.......thanks"
He smiled and nodded back
"You want coffee?, I'll get the prospect to bring you some over.
I checked the time on the wall clock and shook my head.
"No, I need to run over to the dry cleaners for your mum, told her I'd pick it up for her while she has Abel."
"Alright, we'll maybe I'll see you later" he said as he exited the office.
I pulled my handbag across my body and raked my fingers through my hair before I myself left the office. Pulling my aviator sunglasses down over my eyes and scanning the lot for Happy as I made my way towards my car. Not seeing him I climbed in and made my way towards the dry cleaners.
Crawling down the street trying to find a parking spot was ridiculous, I had to park half a mile away from the shop or at least it felt that way. Going about my business, I didn't realise I was being watched, looking at the shop displays as I walked past them and humming along to the music in my earphones.
I had picked up Gemma's dry cleaning and strolling back the car when my way was blocked by a huge man with a skinhead.
I stopped and tilted my head up to look him in the face."Yes?" I asked him as he scowled down at me.
"Your with SAMCRO" he stated.
"Depends who's asking" I retorted with a smile.
"We have a message for them." He carried on in a monotone.
"And who is we?" I enquired.
He gestured to a cigar shop with his head.
"Ok" I said cheerily. "Well make sure you send it out quick, postman can be a son of a bitch this time of year."
I made a moved to pass him but again he blocked my way.
I glanced back over to the cigar shop and noticed two other men standing outside with similar shaven heads, one sporting a swastika tattoo on his forearm.
"Look mate, club business, ain't my business." I said to him.
"It is now." He replied menacingly.
He shoved a folded piece of paper into my chest and knocked the air out of me in a rush. My ears were ringing as anger boiled and my fingers itched to cut his off. But he stalked away back to the shop and his companions.
I squeezed the paper in my hand and stormed back to the car, slamming it into gear and tearing down the road once I was inside.
I pulled back in to Teller-Morrow and got out of the car. Seeing Jax at the entrance to the clubhouse I jogged over.
"What's wrong?" He asked as I approached.
"Freya!" Happy called out as he swiftly made his way over after seeing me Jog across the lot.
He grabbed my shoulders to turn me and look over my face and body.
"You ok?"
"I'm fine" I reassured him.
I told them about the massive skinhead and the message they had, passing the paper to Jax.
"Did you open it?" He asked.
I shook my head "No, I've watched one too many films and there's always anthrax in those fuckers."
Jax nodded and called for church. Which was when I realised I had left Gemma's dry cleaning in the car. I took off back across the lot to drive to Gemma's house.
It was dark by the time I pulled back up to the clubhouse and got out of my car. The garage had its shutters down and the office was locked up. I walked inside the clubhouse expecting to see someone, anyone, but the place was empty.
"Oh well." I thought, five minutes of peace before someone was bound to show up again.
I made my way to Happy's dorm, tossed my bag on the bed, toed off my boots, and flicked on the small tv that he had bought in to keep me entertained during times like this.
I picked up a cup that had been left on the desk and trotted back towards the kitchen. As I neared the end of the hallway I looked up to see three masked men standing 6ft away from me. They spotted me and lunged forward. I threw the cup in my hand and heard it smash against the wall as I whirled round and ran back the way I came.Trying to reach the door of Happy's room so I could get inside, lock the door and give myself a few minutes to escape out of the window. It didn't happen that way though. I reached the door and bombed through but the man behind me was fast. I dipped to retrieve my knife but he made a grab for the back of my foot and I fell forward, knife clattering out of my hand and just out of reach under the bed. I tried to push myself up but the others had caught up and I was trapped.
Kicking and squirming to get away I soon realised was futile. The biggest of them back handed my across the face and I felt blood pool in my mouth. He laughed as one of the men standing toe punted the side of my face."I told you, we have a message for SAMCRO."
The one leaning over me spat out.I struggled against them again and was rewarded with a barrage of blows from all of them. One started pulling at my jeans while I kicked out at him and screamed abuse their way. It was no use though there was not a chance in hell I was getting out of this. I turned my head to the side and fixed my gaze on the tv which was playing Sex and the City.
"I'll kill every one of you" I whispered as they used me.
