The lights were on at the farmhouse when I arrived. And Alvarez was standing on the doorstep. I tipped my chin at him as I excited the car and made my way over to him.

As I reached him he squinted his eyes slightly, taking my chin in his fingers and turning my face from side to side.

"What happened to your face Conejita?"

I shrugged a little.

"It's not too bad."

Titling his head and raising a brow he spoke again. "That's not what asked."

I smiled. "Some men don't understand the meaning of no."

At the change in his expression I proceeded.

"Don't worry, I got away, nothing happened."

He nodded. "You know who it is?"

"Didn't get round to asking his name." Came my response.

He looked concerned for a moment then said "Come inside we need to talk."

I didn't like the sound of that.

I dropped my bag down by the door and followed Alvarez through to the kitchen. I sat up on the kitchen side and lit a cigarette as he moved about getting papers from the folder on the table.

He didn't seem as relaxed as he usually was, nothing ever seemed to phase him but now he was slightly on edge and it was making me nervous.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Hmm?" he responded.

I gestured towards the papers with my cigarette.

"Come." was his only reply.

I jumped down from the side and walked to stand next to him as he spread out the documents in front of me. I felt like I had been slapped in the face by what I saw.

One hit, three men.

My head snapped back so I could look at Marcus in the face.

"No way!" I said. "You can't possibly think there would be any way that I would take those contracts."

"I know you wouldn't take them, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't know they exist." He replied in a soothing voice. "Conejita, we may not have been the only ones contacted."

I bit my lip contemplating what he was telling me.

"I need to tell them." I said softly.

"I know." He responded.

"I can't just turn up there" I pondered giving voice to my thoughts. " I need to speak to Jax, can you get me a number for him?"

"I already have it." He said with a slight smile.

I laid my head against his shoulder.

"Thank you."

Alvarez gave me the number I needed to contact Jax, while I looked over the contracts in more detail. The three faces of Jax, Happy and Tig stared up at me. My finger itched to touch Happy's face so I squeezed my eyes shut for a moment and opened them looking at another part of the page. No reason was given for the hit which always pissed me off. I might get paid to kill but I at least wanted to know why I was ending the life. I never took a contract without knowing the reason, I could end up killing someone over a dispute of parking bays.

Alvarez stepped out of the room to give me privacy while I made my call. I looked at the time before dialling the number for Jax. My stomach flip flopped inside of me while I waited for him to answer. It was late, he could possibly be sleeping. I was about to hang up when I heard his voice.

"Hello."

I took a steadying breath.

"Jax, it's Freya. Please don't react, don't tell anyone it's me. We need to talk but not over the phone. Can you meet me?"

I heard movement on the other end of the line, then he spoke in a hushed whisper

"Freya, where are you? Are you ok?"

"I'm fine" I replied. "Will you meet me tomorrow night at the diner just off the one three two in Modesto?"

"Yeah. ok, what time?" He asked.

"Eleven" I replied. "Oh Jax, come alone, I'm not quite ready for a family reunion."

"Freya" he pleaded.

"Jax, please" I urged back.

"I'll see you there" he said.

I put the phone down on the table and plopped my head down into my hands.
Alvarez came up behind me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"You know, eventually the Sons may know about our connection, I don't think they will be pleased."

"They don't own me Marcus." I stated. "I love them but they have no say on what I do with my life, who I work with and who my friends are."

He nodded and patted the shoulder where his hand laid.

"I need information." My brain ticking over into business mode. "I need to find out who else if any have been contacted for this hit. I need to get to them before they get to SAMCRO." I got up as I spoke and grabbed two glasses, filling both with Whiskey.

"That's a dangerous game Conejita." Alvarez replied taking his glass from me.

"Aye, but they are my Uncles family and he is my blood." I said before throwing back the shot.

"And Happy?" He said with a raised eyebrow.

I chewed my bottom lip.

"I can't let him die." I responded.

"Ok. I'll make some calls." He finally said after a moments pause.

"Thank you." My voice was low as I answered "I really appreciate it, I appreciate everything you do for me."

Alvarez smiled "I no."
