37 - stargazing

After the study date at the coffee shop we went Kai's place since no one was home so we could take a breather from people and school.

The sun was setting and the two were on Kai's rooftop laying on a blanket having late night thoughts and talking about their childhood.

"I wonder what it would've been like if we knew each other when we were younger" Kai said.

"Well for one I'd be mentally stable right now" Yuri joked.

"I'm serious" Kai laughed.

"I am being serious-!" Yuri said, "It was very lonely growing up as a child, being an only child and having no relatives in Korea"

"Where's your family?" Kai asked looking over at her.

"My mom moved from Japan when she was younger and that's how she met my dad," Yuri explained, "now here I am"

"I had no idea.." Kai said, "no wonder my family was close with your grandparents"

"Yeah, apparently they stayed with you for a bit when they first arrived" Yuri said.

"Wow, that was a while ago" Kai thought out loud.

"I'm glad though, if my dad didn't know you, he probably would've killed you- especially after seeing you kiss me" Yuri joked, "I bet he wasn't expecting the boy who grew up in front of him kissing his daughter"

"Ugh nooo-" Kai cringed, "don't remind me.."

"Yeah it was the night I left the hospital and I was all musty and you told me that you liked me" Yuri continued to tease him.

"Agh- Ya enough stop it-!" Kai sulked as Yuri laughed.

The two went silent as the sun finally set and the stars were out.

"Hey Yuri?"

"Yeah?"

"What do you hope for the future?" he asked.

Yuri stared at the stars as she turned her head on the blanket laying on Huening Kai's rooftop.

"To watch the seasons change with you." she said.

Kai looked over at her and blushed

"I'd like that" he smiled.

The two smiled as they held hands, intertwining their fingers.

"Do you remember that photobook?" Yuri asked.

"Yeah" Kai said.

"We were so ugly" Yuri laughed.

Kai laughed as he moved his head closer to hers.

"I'm glad you're not one of those people who cares about looks" Yuri said, "because I look so ugly when I cry in front of you"

"No you don't" Kai scoffed.

"Boogers drip down my nose silly" she said.

"Who's doesn't?" he said.

Yuri laughed as he smiled.

"I love you" he said.

Yuri's face stung as she sat up.

"I mean it"

"I know that's why my heart is racing-" Yuri said as she put her hands on her face. "stop being so lovey dovey"

"I can't help it when I'm with you" he said wrapping his arms around her.

"Noooo-!" Yuri squirmed in his arms.

The two stared at each other as Kai slowly leaned into Yuri. Yuri shut her eyes as she felt Kai's lips against hers as he held her face. The two kissed as they held each other.

The two pulled away as they immediately started kissing again as Kai leaned more forward as Yuri placed her hands onto his chest.

"Yuri.." Kai whispered as he pulled back.

"Ooh the two are making out-!" Bahiyyih said as she entered Kai's room.

"Bahiyyih-!" Kai shouted "what are doing back from dance practice early-?!"

"The award ceremony ended early silly~" she said, "I'll be downstairs with the others" she said smugly.

Kai buried his face into his hands as Yuri laughed.

"It's okay Kai" Yuri laughed.

"Nooo this is so embarrassing-!" Kai sulked.

Yuri laughed, hugging Kai as he smiled embarrassed.

"C'mon Bahiyyih won't say a thing" Yuri reassured him.

"Exactly-! cause she knows and she's gonna rub it in my face when we're alone"

"At least it wasn't your dad who saw us"

"Enough-!" Kai said sitting up embarrassed as Yuri laughed the entire time.
