Sunday, Starcourt Mall, 12:45 pm
"Holy shit! This place is huge!" Will said in awe. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure this place was built in the 80's when everything was a hell of a lot cheaper." Mike said, dragging Will through the mall. "Where are you taking me, Wheeler?" Will laughed. "The coolest hang out spot in all of Starcourt Mall, Scoops Ahoy!" Mike exclaimed, walking into the store.
"Robin!" Mike exclaimed again, speed walking up to the counter. "Hey, little Wheeler!" The girl behind the counter greeted him, she looked about 2 or 3 years older than he was. " Is Steve working today?" Mike asked, leaning against the counter. "Yeah, hold on." She said, turning around, "Hey dingus! one of your kids is here!" She yelled. Will watched as a guy, that looked about the same age as the girl behind the counter, slid open a sliding window that separated the front and back of the store where the girl was. "Hey man!" Steve smiled and walked to the front of the store. "Steve and Robin, this is Will. Will, this is Steve and Robin." Mike introduced them. "Hi." Will smiled and waved. "Hey man! Have I seen you around here before?" Steve asked, leaning against the counter. "Nah, I just moved here yesterday." Will said. "How'd you meet little Wheeler?" Robin smiled. "He's my new neighbor." Will answered. "Well, you guys want some ice cream?" Steve asked. Both of them looked at each other, Will smiling, basically saying yes. "Yeah, sure." Mike said, looking back at Steve.
Once they got their ice cream, they sat in one of the booths near them. "I cannot believe you just said that strawberry is better than chocolate." Mike rolled his eyes. "Chocolate is good and all but strawberry is better." Will laughed. "If it's so good, then you should let me try it." Mike smiled. "If you wanted some that bad you could've just asked." Will said, giving Mike a spoonful of his ice cream. Will rolled his eyes and took the spoonful of ice cream from Will then, he took a bit of his ice cream and thought to himself. "You might be right." Mike said reluctantly. "When am I wrong?" Will laughed. "They're definitely flirting, right?" Robin whispered to Steve. "Yeah, I think so." Steve whispered back.
"Where are you taking me now, Wheeler?" Will asked, practically getting dragged out of the mall. "My personal favorite place, the arcade." Mike said. "God, you are such a nerd." Will giggled and rolled his eyes. "Come on!" Mike said, dragging Will to the other side of the shopping center. As they walked into the arcade, a new song came on, Lovers Rock by TV girl. Mike turned to Will, "If you tell me you don't like this song, I will personally leave you stranded right here." Mike half joked. "Are you kidding me? I love this song." Will smiled. "You love a lot of songs." Mike laughed. "Shut up." Will rolled his eyes. "Come on, loser. Let's play Space Invaders." Mike smiled. "Yes, please." Will said, following Mike.
"One last stop, Byers." Mike said, walking out of the arcade. "Roller rink?" Will said, holding out his hand. "Roller rink." Mike repeated, taking Will's hand. "Why is everything here so pretty?" Will asked, walking into the roller rink. Mike laughed, "Come on, Byers." He said as he walked over to the counter where you rent roller skates. "Is this a bad time to tell you that I can't really skate?" Will asked as Mike laughed. "I can't really either." Mike said. "We'll figure it out together, I guess." Will laughed
Once they got their skates, they walked over to an open table and put their skates on. Will stood up and almost immediately feel back down into his seat as Mike laughed under his breath. "You're so mean." Will said. "We both know damn well that if I fell, you would be laughing at me." Mike smiled, helping Will up. "Whatever, Wheeler." Will laughed. Once Will was back on his seat, Mike stuck his hand out to Will. "I'm kinda scared to get up again." Will laughed "Come on. I won't let you fall I promise." Mike smiled. Will sighed and took Mike's hand.
"Ready to go?" Mike asked, taking off his skates. "Yeah." Will smiled. "Come on." Mike said, taking Will's hand and walking out of the rink. Once they walked out of the rink, a new song started playing, Style by Taylor Swift. Mike watched Will light up as soon as he realized what song was playing, "You like this?" Will asked, tilting his head in slight confusion. "Of course I do." Mike smiled. Will studied the side of his face as the chorus played, "You go that James Dean, daydream, look in your eyes and I got that red lip, classic, thing that you like. And when we go crashing down, we come back every time. 'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style." Will smiled at Mike, "What?" Mike asked, noticing Will staring at him. "Nothing." Will smiled and shook his head. "Here you are." Mike smiled, walking Will up to his house. "Do you wanna come inside? To y'know, paint your nails?" Will smiled. "Uh, y-yeah, sure." Mike stammered.
