CHAPTER 14

        Friday, The Byers House, 5:30 pm

"You ready for the game?" El asked, watching her brother do his eyeliner from the bed. "Almost." Will said, staring at himself in the mirror. "Guys! Mike's here." Joyce yelled from the bottom of the stairs. "We'll be down in a sec." El answered for both of them. "I gotta get something from my room, I'll meet you down there." El said, getting off the bed and walking towards the door. "Do you actually have to get something out of your room or do you just do that so I have to meet Mike first?" Will asked, stopping his sister before she walked out of his room. "No comment." She said,  quickly slipping out of the room. Will rolled his eyes and started walking out of his room and down the stairs, meeting Mike and the bottom. "Hey." Will smiled. "Hey." Mike turned to Will and stopped to stare at his outfit, admiring how good he looked. "Earth to Mike?" Will said, waving his hand in front of Mike's face. "Sorry. I just-. Sorry." Mike stammered his was though a sentence with a flustered expression. 

"It's fine." Will laughed, turning to the stairs, hearing someone coming down. "There you are. Ready to go?" Will said to El, who was still on the stairs. "Yeah." She replied, grabbing a jacket. "Will, honey, do you think you should take a jacket?" Joyce asked from the kitchen. "No, I think I'll be fine." Will replied with a smile. "Okay, sweetie. Have fun!" She waved as she saw Will walk out of the door. Will waved and smiled at his mom before slipping outside where El and Mike were.  

"We're driving?" El said, as she watched Mike get into a car that was parked in front of his house. "Hey, if you want to walk to the party after then, please, be my guest." Mike laughed from the driver seat. El nodded and got into the backseat. Will gave El a confused expression as she closed the back seat door behind her,basically saying, "Why can't I sit with you?" and her response was, "Sit in the passenger seat, stupid."  He rolled his eyes but, obliged and sat in the passenger seat next to Mike. "Everyone in?" Mike asked, mainly looking into the back, making sure that El was in the car. "Good. let's go." Mike said, before pulling out of his spot in front of his house. 

"It's so fucking loud in here." Will said to El, walking though the lobby. "What?" Mike said, hearing Will talk from behind him. "Um, nothing." Will said. Mike nodded and looked ahead of him again. El looked at Will for a second then decided to catch up to Mike. "Hey, Mike." El said, appearing next to Mike. "Hey El. What's up?" Mike asked.  "Um, I just wanna let you know that Will is not the best with loud noises." She said slowly. "So, if he's like not talking or you can tell that he's, like, over stimulated or something can you just like get him away from it?" El added. "Oh, yeah. Of course." Mike smiled. "Thank you so much." El said,walking back to her brother. "What was that about?" Will questioned. "Oh, nothing. We were just talking about the party later." El smiled
