"What the fuck is going to happen in the morning?" Will thought to himself before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
Will woke up to the sun shining in his eyes and what felt like arms wrapped around him. After silent freaking and reminding himself that Mike was in his bed, he carefully got his was out of Mike's arms, making sure not to wake him up and headed downstairs to make tea, knowing Mike would probably need it when he woke up.
"Morning, honey." Joyce said, from the other side of the counter, making her coffee. "Morning, mom." He smiled. "Did dad already go to work?" He asked, getting some cups and tea bags out. "Yeah, he actually just left." She smiled back. "Can you do me a favor and text Mrs.Wheeler and tell her that Mike's over here?" He asked, getting the hot water from the sink. "I drove him home last night and he asked if he could sleepover." Will gave her a nervous smile as he was finishing making the tea "Sure, honey. Just, let me know next time." She shook her head smiling. "I will! Love you!" He said, speed walking up the stairs and back into his room.
"Look who's up." Will smiled, closing the door behind him. Mike was too scared to say anything and stayed silent until Will sat next to him. All Mike had to do was look at Will and he immediately knew something was off. "Hey, what's wrong?" He said, putting both glasses down and taking Mike's hands. "What happened?" Will asked again. Mike could feel the tears start forming in his eyes, all he could do was hug Will, hug him like he was gone disappear when he let go. "You're okay." Will said softly while playing with Mike's hair.
"Okay. We have two options." Will said, pulling away from this hug. "We can drink this tea I made us and then talk about what's wrong, or, we can talk about it now and drink the tea after." He smiled. "Can we talk about it now and drink the tea?" Mike asked, smiling. "Of course." Will smiled back and handed Mike one of the glasses off his bed-side table. "You don't have to answer this if you don't want to but, do you remember what happened last night?" Will asked, taking a sip of his tea. "Yeah, that's kinda why I was freaking out just now." Mike admitted, too scared to look up.
"Hey. You can talk about it.. if you want." Will slightly trailed off, "I'm listening." He added. "Okay. Um. I do like you. A lot. And not just a friend way. And, Jesus. I suck at this." Mike halfway explained. "Hey, breathe." Will smiled, taking Mike's hand again. "I just- I like you, Will." Mike finally admitted. "I like you too, Mike." Will smiled.
Mike smiled back and leaned in, just enough to where both of their foreheads were resting on each other. "I don't know if I can do this." Mike said, looking between Will's eyes. "Mike, you don't have to do anything." Will said, giving another reassuring smile. Mike looked down at his hands, interlocked with Will's and decided, "fuck it" and leaned in closer. But instead of meeting him in the middle, Will decided to lean away ever so slightly. So, Mike grabs the collar of his shirts and pulls him in, smashing their lips together.
Both of them felt like the biggest weight in the world was lifted off their shoulders. All the tension between them and that invisible wall they both didn't realize they had was gone. And they both loved it.
