So here we are, all seven of us squashed in an Uber. After putting it to a vote, we decided it would be best if we tried deleting the message physically.
Luckily for us Janes friends are always posting their movements non-stop, if our observation is correct according to their stories they are now currently at Amsterdam which according to google maps is on the other side of the city which is very expensive.
So somehow we have to sneak in there and make sure we are not seen; get his phone which is probably on his person; delete is successfully and make our way back home.
How are a bunch of fifteen year olds supposed to snick into a club without being detected, Megan asks and we all send daggers in her direction while the driver mutters something about how he started when he was even younger.
Were here, he says as the car comes to a complete stop. A notification pops into my messages which l dont bother checking because it is probably the payment going through and l know looking at the price would make me faint. We get out of the car, staring around.
The street and surroundings are brightly light with different restaurants on this block; the one across and two more after this one. It is commonly referred to as Helen Joseph Road. There are also different bars scattered around with Christmas lights decorated in front to attract attention. There is loud busting music playing, Amapiano, which can be heard from the streets.
There it is, Amsterdam, Emihle say pointing behind us and we cross the street making our way to it.
The place is quite full, it is an open plan, with the DJ playing right across the bar. It has a huge deck in front from which one enters and there are tables scattered across. Luckily for us there are no waiters waiting at the front so entering is easy but to the entrance leading inside the building l spot two of them.
What if we get caught? Megan asks staring to panic, probably because she is afraid and also because there are too many people here for her comfort. We decide to move to the side because standing in the middle of id drawing unneeded attention to us.
So what are we going to do? None of us look eighteen and l am guessing if we try heading inside they might be suspicious and ask questions? Carmen asks.
Looking around at my friends l can confirm that what she is saying is true, we werent exactly dressed for going out. But we settle for Jessica and Emihle they are our best option, they are always confident and look like they belong so they are the ones to go inside the bar.
Carmen; Sisipho and l look around the deck while Raven stays with a panicking Megan on the side. Pushing our way through the many people dancing and drinking we make our way to each table observing carefully while trying to dough wondering hands.
After making our second round, it is decided we cannot find them anywhere so we make our way back to where we left our other friends, where we find the others there already waiting for us.
Any luck? I ask with my fingers crossed.
No, we even checked the bathrooms.
Fuck!
But we did ask one of the waiters and when l showed him a picture he remembered them. Apparently they were too wild of a bunch to forget. So they left about thirty minutes ago, Jessica explains taking a sip from a Gin bottle that she did not have when we got here.
Where did you get that? Sisipho asks her.
From someone who l do not care to remember, she answers taking another sip while Emihle glares at her.
What? He was offering and you dont say no to free stuff.
Raven grabs the drink from her placing it in her hand bag, You can drink later, but now l want to finish whatever it is were doing so l can back to sleep. Just she is about to say a comeback, Jessica notices her facial expression and shuts up.
So you are telling me that we probably passed each other on the road and now we wasted our time doing this.
Youre not helping Raven, l tell her but she just rolls her eyes.
I taking a deep breath trying to calm myself down but end up choking on the smoke from one of the tables in front of us. Yah, l cant breathe lm going out, l tell my friends not even waiting for their response before heading out towards the exit.
The streets seems to be filling up more and more and the music is getting louder and louder. Once outside l lean against the wall to the establishment trying to gather my thoughts. Who ever said falling in love is the best things in the world was insane.
My friends join me and Jessica also leans against the wall. Great, on top of everything else we also have to take care of her too.
I just checked Awandes story and it seems like they are on the move but she hasnt exactly posted where they are going, Carmen say scrolling through her phone.
Do you think we should just go back, l am so over everything? I could just text him saying it was a joke. I ask my friends since this concerns them too.
Over forty five minutes later, and you think he will believe you? Emihle says clearly disagreeing with me.
Shes right, l have already spent enough energy as it is, we might as well finish what we started, Carmen adds.
Guys! I found something, Jessica says, It looks like they are at a place called Maxs Lifestyle and from what l can see from their page there are a lot of guards at the entrance, so theres definitely no way we are getting in, she says the last part laughing obnoxiously while her eyes fail at focusing on one thing.
Raven grabs the phone from her, wanting to see it herself. Yep, shes not lying theres no way we are getting in there, security guards everywhere.
We all turn to look at Emihle placing all our hopes on her. Upon realization she scowls, What? You guys always think l am Jacky Chan or something. I dont know how to sneak past secu-.
Wow, awusemhle. Are you heading back in, ndi ngaku-thegela idrinki, a drunk middle aged man cuts her off, whistling in Carmens direction while stumbling on his steps with his friends encouraging him.
Balling her hands, Emihle takes a step in their direction ready for a fight. Sisipho noticing this quickly grabs a hold of her. Dont, they are not worth it and besides that would be drawing attention to us which is the last thing you would want isnt it?
Deciding her father not finding out is more important than this she unrolls her hand focusing her attention back on us.
Yes we could go after them, but what if by the time we get there they are already on the move and then we have to go again? Carmen states a valid point so we wait for five minutes, looking at their statuses to see if anything changes but nothing does. Hopefully we did not just make a mistake by doing that and so l take out my phone to book a ride and looking at the prices, they are not making things any better.
And I thought this place was far, it is even further than this place.
We better hope that we find them there or else at this rate we wont have any money to go back. I tell my friends as we get into the car with the driver complaining that there are too many of us for the price we are paying.
