Chapter 14

Taylor! The oddly familiar voice fades away to someone else screaming in my ear, waking me up from a very good dream.

Okayyy, l mumble lifting up my head, slowly opening my eyes but l am blinded by a bright light and so l move my hands forward to cover my face and my elbow bumps against something hard.

Aww. Crying in pain laying my head back down because of the pain not just from my elbow but everywhere else. My entire body hurts and the surface l am on is not helping either.

Taylor! Get up now! I can hear Darcys annoying voice calling out to me once more.

This time l open my eyes slower, making sure they adjust to the light, sitting up straight in the process.

Standing in front of me is a pissed Darcy and a disappointed Michael.

Whats your problem? I ask him rubbing my eyes.

Seriously? He shouts once more only this this it causes my head to start pounding painfully.

Fuck, l mumble rubbing my head.

Whats my problem? Were gone for a few hours and then l find you sleeping on the kitchen counter!

Usually I dont play attention to Darcy when he is mad but upon processing his words my eyes fly wide open and l look around. He is correct, l am indeed sitting on the kitchen counter.

The only thing l can do is gasp in shock. What the actual fuck!

I rub my head trying to remember how I got here when the memories start rushing in. Jessica looking for alcohol; us playing a game; going all around Durban to delete a stupid text message; being kidnapped; being arrested and then escaping but everything after that is very fuzzy and l dont remember how l ended up here.

Get down! Jane yells, l did not even notice her entering the room.

I dont care what you and your friends did last night but you left the entire place a mess. We just got here very tired and come home to this mess. Mom and dad will be arriving in about two hour so you better clean this mess, she yells. She doesnt have to repeat herself twice because I immediately do as instructed, she is the only sibling I will always listen too.

Jumping down my bare feet land on something soft and when l look down a marshmallow, very weird. My head starts pounding even harder because of the over bearing smell of chlorine which l am covered in.

And wake up your friends, she adds leaving the kitchen.

Looking around l dont see anyone one else so l move to the dining where l find Jessica on the floor hugging a plot plant and all around the floor are Cornflakes and Doritos.

Waking her up she also claims to have a splitting headache and no memory of how we she ended up on the floor.

The rest of our friends find us in the living room with the same story. Raven; Carmen and Emihle where woken up by Ally on the pool deck while Sisipho and Megan where passed out in the hallway.

With the weak excuse of having too much sugar and fizzy drinks we werent asked too many questions because they were also suffering from a serious case of ibhabhalaza.

We clean the kitchen; pool deck and bar and also find two empty bottles which is probably the reason why we cannot remember everything.

After we finished, Megan prepared for us a hot cup of water and lemon which we are currently drinking.
