The body
It has been hours and Freya is still trying to succeed what she started, on Berenice's body.
She had tried almost everything. Every possible cure, every medicine and magic to bring Berenice's spirit back to her body.
Hours and endless moments have passed inside the house where Berenice's body remained inside the tub and Freya stood over her all those hours.
Neither Atreus nor Kratos had left the house or Berenice's side.

No matter how many moments had passed and no matter how much the procedures progressed in the eight way, nothing came out of this. Berenice is not opening her eyes, not even moving, just breathing.
She was still cold to the touch, not like before but still cold.

While Freya continues her magical practices over the water tub Atreus keeps holding his sister's cold hand, filled with the same despair and sorrow as he is seeing her in this state.

Kratos, on the other hand, held much more within himself than what he could possible speak of.

He held back an unstoppable and untamed rage that he had not felt since the day he left Greece. If this rage were to be unleashed, all 9 realms might have been destroyed, causing massive devastation.
When Calliope died he was indeed wreaking havoc on his homeland but at the moment he has one last chance to save Berenice now that Freya has resurrected her. And the only reason he has not killed Baldur yet is because he is waiting for his daughter to return and because he respects and values Freya still more than his rage.

Freya now does not just have only Bernice to worry about, whom she has come to adore and want to protect, but she also worries about her son, who still hates her and is still in conflict with Kratos and his children.
As powerful as her magic was before, now she can do no more than give Berenice a bunch of charms. For a spirit to gain the power to return to its body it must either be found or attracted back to its body. But now nothing brings Berenice back.

All Freya manages to do now is to exhaust her limits and stop the process, gasping for breath dazed and tired over the tub.
Atreus notices Freya's exhaustion and approaches her, concerned, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Atreus:Are you okay?
Freya:Yes.
Mimir:Don't do more than you can stand, m'lady!

After Freya recovers and stands up, she looks at the floor with sadness and despair and addresses Berenice's father, with great disappointment for herself and her current failure.

Freya:I'm sorry. I've done everything I could. But her spirit is disconnected to a faraway place. I don't have the ability to strengthen her enough for her to return.
Mimir:Those amulets from the blessed...

Mimir had of course a point about the amulets but Freya already knows the truth about them and interrupts him.

Freya:Baldur must have destroyed the one I gave him. Maybe you should take her home to a familiar environment. Maybe... maybe this way her soul will return.

Kratos, angry and still in distressed, puts a gentle hand on his daughter's cold forehead and, holding back his anguish, continues to wonder what went so wrong with Berenice's trip to Hel and how she could even manage to get that much far.

Kratos:Where is that last amulet you gave to someone else?
Freya:It is owned by a boy I used to take care of long ago when he made visits to Midgard. But now I don't know if he is here, or if he is coming here regularly. Besides, the option is not for you.

In this report, Freya seems sincere but it is certain that she is hiding something very important from Kratos that she does not want to reveal with good reason, and for their own good. It does not seem like she even hides something but rather, is protecting them from something.
With nothing more they can do at the moment, Freya walks over to the boat, puts her hands in the water and takes Berenice in her arms, from which the water drips from her clothes and hair onto the floor.
