This particular memory being brought back in Berenice's mind was something short and
lightning fast but it offered her a good chance to remember what she had forgotten in the Underworld. Even if she did not want to remember it.
Now she clearly remembers how the prophet Teiresias, inside his temple atop the hill, had already revealed the reality of Baldur's fate to her. And she had kept it inside her mind all this time, deeply hidden.
But if she knew about this, beforehand why would she erase her memory of this? It is shocking but not so much that wound cause her to burst out. This makes no sense for her outburst. It is still sad when she thinks about it, that all of her effort, the sacrifice for him and for Freya was in vain, but she cannot do anything to change what happened, even if she truly believed she could settle Baldur down...
Now she and her father will have to answer to this. And the only true and good friend she ever made in the world is now gone. For a while she just stood on the floor and looked like a statue until her musings and reminiscences were interrupted by her brother, who looks at her in surprise.
Atreus:Berrie... Berrie! Are you ok?
Berenice:I'm fine. I'm fine. It's just... why did you kill Baldur?Atreus tries to explain to her as best he can, as he notices how troubled his sister seems.
Atreus:We had no other choice. He would've killed Freya!
Berenice:What?Berenice did remember that Baldur intended to hurt his mother but he actually wished to kill her? Kill his own mother? Was there really salvation for his soul after that deep darkness that inhibited inside his soul? Was there room for reason with him?
Beyond that, Berenice remembers that her father was also a son who killed his own father. But now he is the one who prevented that from happening. She does not even know if she wants to discuss it with him, to tell him that she met Zeus.
Berenice:So we will never see her again?
Mimir:I'm afraid you will, lass. But not as a friend. Your father did the right thing, but it doesn't change the way she feels. Freya herself allowed her son to kill her first, because it would've given him peace. Your father saved her life, but he robbed her of something much more precious. This makes Berenice fill with sorrow and disappointment, to sit back on her bed again and think that she has lost a friend like Freya.
She wishes she would have waken up earlier, leave the Elysium Fields earlier and save Baldur, so she wouldn't lose her, but she can't. She knows she can't.Kratos realizes how his daughter felt about this, so he decides to talk to her about it, approaching her.
Kratos:Girl... Baldur made his choice. I know you wished things were different. But if I had not killed him, Freya would've be dead by now.
Even though Berenice realises that what her father had done, was what had to be done, she still cannot overcome the pain of losing a very good and close friend.
Berenice:I know. It's just... you know. She was my friend. And now what? We will be doing what we were planning? We will explore all of Midgard? We will free all of the remaining Valkyries?
Kratos:First we need to check if you are ready for battle.
Berenice:Why wouldn't I be?
Mimir:Lass, you have been away from us for far too long. You can't know what effect this has on your stamina. It is natural to take time to recover. You have gone through death himself.
Berenice:You have gone through death as well.
Mimir:Well, yes, but all I needed was for you to carry me and give you advices... not to fight Valkyries.Berenice grins at this but their moment is interrupted by a light sound that sounds like wood hitting the wooden door of the house, and at the same time a pair of wings fluttering.
This can mean many things. It could be Odin's ravens, Freya in the form of a hawk or even a friendlier face...
