"Hey, baby? Would you mind helping me with—"

I'm on my way to Y/n when I see her drowning her ice cream in chocolate. Ice cream right now?

"Oh, I see Thanksgiving desserts have already started right now," I joke around, referring to Y/n getting ready to have her ice cream. She looks up from her cup and up to me.

"What?" she inquires, "Let's just say I'm a huge fan of ice cream. It's good anytime you get it."

I agree with her. It really is good anytime. But I don't want her all stuffed for dinner. When I say that my mom makes the best Thanksgiving turkey in the world, I do mean it.

I just don't want Y/n missing out.

Before I can say anything else, Liam walks in looking cleaned up and and shaven. I have to say, for someone who annoys me and my girlfriend alongside my brother, he knows when and where to be mature.

Not that this is some posh event. It's a warming family get together. It's meant for pure fun and togetherness. But this haves him in my family's graces even higher.

Not complaining.

"I take it that you approve of my attire," Liam asks, referring to his dressing. I nod my head, smiling at my little brother, "Man, do I ever."

"Hey, eyes on your best friend over there," says Chloe, walking into the room and standing behind him. I laugh, taking a minute's glance at my own girlfriend, who's stuffing her face with her ice cream.

"Can't I just compliment my brother, not to mention my brother's girl?" I rhetorically ask. Come to think of it, I don't really know where I stand with Chloe till now.

I would have known, if it hadn't been for the events of this past month. We did get close when Y/n was in Chicago without me. That had me assured. But then everything that had happened with Niall just seemed to drive this wedge between us. But I'd assumed that simmered after Y/n and I talked everything out.

Not to mention that I seem to be the one she confides in when it comes to either Liam or Y/n. Call me crazy, but I'm fairly certain that both siblings are important in her life. So that only shows she trusts me enough.

"Oh wow! I'm actually hurt, Steinfeld," says Chloe, clutching her chest for effect, "What happened to being your dear friend?"

Guess that answers my questions.

I'm guessing my shocked expression wasn't very well hidden, because I've supposedly left Chloe to be a laughing mess. "I'm just messing with you, but you're still a dear friend!"

And with that, Chloe gives me a gentle pat as she heads over to the living room. I take a look at the time. We're not gonna stay here for much longer.

It then dawns on me that Liam hasn't spoken much as he's distracted. I follow his gaze that leads towards the table Y/n's sitting at. He seems to be staring at her, sporting a slightly concerned expression.
