7. Sweet Treats

My current problem, and one that constantly takes over my life, is having nothing to wear even though I have an entire closet full of cute clothes. It's about 10:30 in the morning and I'm trying to figure out what to wear to the palace.

Yep, that's right, I'm hanging out with Eloise today. Just me, because Olive got called into work, apparently it's super busy today and her Dad needed her help. I think she just wants me to be alone with the Princess. I mean it makes sense, she ships us hard.

"Hey, lovely girl." I turn and smile brightly at my Mom and sister as they both take a seat on the couch in front of my bed.

"Why are you naked?" Verena throws a random shirt that was laying on the floor before covering her eyes. She's a fucking drama queen.

I snort and turn back to look in my closet. "I'm wearing a bra and underwear. I swear you're dramatic." I shake my head before sighing and putting all my clothes back up in the closet and closing the door.

"Well, I came to check on you because we heard a lot of bumping and screaming in here and your sister tagged along 'cause she's nosey." My Mom smiles at me as Verena smiles at me.

"Well, I'm going to hang out with a friend today, but I don't know what to wear and I have to live in an hour." I bite my lip and glance around my room.

"Is this 'friend' someone you like?" They both stare at me waiting for an answer to Verenas' question.

"No, just friends." I blush under their gaze. "You two are acting just like Olive."

"Hey, I just wanted to know. You never care about what you wear when you and Liv hang out so I thought this time things would be different." I groan as I realize my sister is completely right.

"Don't tease your sister. Look I have to go, your father and I have a meeting to attend. I love you, girls." Mom kisses us both on the cheek before leaving.

"Now that Mom has gone tell me the truth. Also didn't you go shopping the other day?" My eyes widen and I rush over to the neatly folded clothes on my couch. I never put them away.

"I may have a crush on this girl and Liv thinks she likes me too but I'm either dumb or just in denial." I pick out a short white sundress and pair it with a pastel pink cropped cardigan.

Verena sighs loudly before talking. "Tell me everything and I'll tell you what's up."

And I do, from the beginning to now. Once I finish telling her, I detangle my damp hair before pulling half of it up in a hair bow. I twist the ponytail around before grabbing a butterfly hair clip and pinning it up.

"So that's everything, what do you think?" I watch her blankly stare at the back of my head through the mirror.

"I think you're stupid and in denial." She shakes her head at me before laughing. "She likes you and who cares that she's a royal? She'd like you if she was a nobody and you'd still like her too."

I grab the strawberry lipgloss that Eloise gave me and shove it in my purse before double-checking that I have everything. "SO what do you think I should do then?" I glance over at my sister and we both begin to walk to the front of the house.

"Either wait for her to confess or make the first move or you do it." She opens the door for me and follows me to a car that was sent courtesy of the princess. "All those romance books you've read Evie, it's time to put them to use."

I quickly hug my sister before getting into the car. "Love you." She smiles and waves me off before going back inside. As we drive off the only thing that comes to mind is how nervous I really am.
