Evie Pov
"How's living with your girlfriend?" I glare at Olive as she and Clementine plop down on the lounge chairs outside of Eloises' house. Thursday was the day we both have off from the book shop and I decided to have them both over. It's more comfortable to get to know someone and also because I didn't want to leave the house.
"Anyways, It's nice meeting you, Emmy." We both grin at each other as the words leave my mouth. I meant it too. I've always had trouble making friends, but meeting her has me thinking this is going to be an easy but long-time friendship. "Your hair is absolutely beautiful by the way."
Her laugh meets my ears and I blush. "Thanks, Evie, I love your hair too." We spend the rest of the day drinking fruity drinks, lounging around the pool, and eating our weight in snacks before the sun begins to set. We all eventually move inside, showering quickly before redressing and re-gathering on the couch inside. Kehlani is like the perfect addition to our duo, well now a trio.
The front door slams, making me jump before Eloise makes her way into the living room with her phone pressed between her ear and shoulder. Documents are being held in her hands and she's talking fast, madder than ever. Her eyes stop on mine and she pulls the phone away from her ear handing it to someone I didn't notice beside her.
"Hi, angel." She pecks my lips a few times before grabbing the phone again and walking down the hall, with her assistant right behind her. I watch her until she's out of my sight.
I turn back to the girls with a blush on my cheeks. They both begin teasing me. Eventually we make our rounds in the pool and the freezer to eat every popsicle in it. When the time got close to 7, both of the girls bid me goodbye but not before teasing me again and making kissy faces at me.
"She seems nice." I turn in the doorway and smile at Eloise. A horn honks and I quickly wave before closing and locking the door.
"Clementine is very sweet. I hope she stays a friend, eventually a close one." I look at my girlfriend and sigh at the stressed look that sits on her shoulders.
"Anyways I'd love to stay up with you tonight, but I had a terrible day and allI want to do is sleep." She presses a quick kiss to my head and quickly makes her way upstairs.
I stand there as a pout forms on my face. The oven dings behind me at the dinner I made for us. I knew she was stressed with the summer festival that she had to plan, and any other royal responsibilities she had. I had offered to help and even asked what was going on, but she reminded me that she didn't need my help.
A sigh leaves my lips before I fix myself a small plate and pack some away with a few other sides for her lunch tomorrow. My hand hovers over the sticky notes and pen that I used before to write down things I saw online to try and make. I groan and quickly write her a cute note. Even though she's so busy and it makes me sad I don't really have the right to be so upset.
Do I?

I quietly shut the bathroom door and give myself a high five for making it to the bathroom and back to the bed in the dark without falling. I didn't even wake up sleeping beauty.
"Evie stop dancing and get in the fucking bed." I quickly slide into the bed and get comfortable laying on my stomach. The first few nights of my sleeping here she complained that I never cuddled her in bed. I like to say at a good temperature and she runs hot at night, like a fucking lizard or something. When I told her that she told me it was the demon inside of her.
It's silent for a while between us and just as I was about to say something she pulls me into the middle of the bed and pinches my leg so that I turn over. I smile weakly at her sleepy face. Her hair settles around her waist tickling her skin because the tank top she has on is now settled above her belly button. My eyes zero in on the green underwear she has on before I quickly look back up at her face.
