Grapefruit flopped out of his hammock, the yellow rays of sunlight  piercing the emerald canopy covering the sapphire sky.

The wind was knocked out of Grapefruit as he landed in a pile of moss, squashing some poor ferns. Grapefruit's clumsy talons tried to rescue the less damaged ones, but he crumpled some of the plants' leaves. Grapefruit heaved his now damp and muddy body off the forest floor and onto his talons, while he trotted along the path to his friends' hammocks.

He passed RainWings and surprisingly some NightWings on the way, the rainbow of colors fully waking him up. Violet, olive, black, silver, gold, all painted on a background of green, brown, and white. Grapefruit took a deep breath, breathing in the moist rainforest air. It could possibly rain tomorrow. Six years ago, the NightWings were allowed to be in the RainWing village by the queen.

Grapefruit could see his dragonethood best friends, Mango and Acorn. Mango yawned and Grapefruit could see her swivel her head; she spotted him and Grapefruit saw Mango's face light up. She jumped, landing next to him, her wings tucking onto her side. Her scales were normally green with red shaded in near the bottom and the top of her body, her tail, talons, and her underbelly was green. Grapefruit turned his head to look at her, his purple eyes shining with energy and maybe a little bit of fright.

"Hey. So, are you ready for today?"

Grapefruit nodded and answered, "Yes."

They both turned their heads to the direction of Acorn's hammock. They both noticed him fall out of his hammock, landing on the bed of moss conveniently placed below. Both Grapefruit and Mango saw him get up and trot towards them, his claws raking the muddy ground below into little piles. His scales were brown with green and gold dashes everywhere, and his underbelly in a shade of hazel.

Once the "group" was together, they all scampered away to their treehouse; Grapefruit could feel the rocks mixed into the mud lightly poking him as his claws carved small ditches in the mud, leaving little piles behind. The ground was already mixed and churned thanks to the many dragon talons.

How many dragons have already gone on this path already?

H was watching was watching the sky, the beatings of wings in different colors flashing in the sun. Dragon, bird, bee, and other different types of wings.

Their group's arch-rival was Blossom. She looks like a normal RainWing, same build, same wings, except she had two glowing dots underneath each eye, one big, one small. She also had no ruff, and webbed talons. Her mother was the Kinkajou of the RainWings, the queen's "best friend", and her father was Turtle of the SeaWings, one of the five, now six, animus dragons in Pyrrhia and the new continent, Pantala.

Grapefruit remembered the day when Blossom hatched very clearly, as if it had just happened yesterday.

A sea-green egg was alone in the clearing, surrounded by trees and watching dragon eyes. Amber, green, gold, Acorn's brown eyes, Mango's lime-green ones, and Grapefriut's own purple eyes. A wooden platform above the middle of the clearing held the queen, Glory, with her assassin-bodyguard, Deathbringer of the NightWings.

A small silver talon poked out, barely visible, ripping the thin, translucent outside shell of the eggs. The dragonet poked her head through the cracks, breaking the remains of the egg; Grapefruit could tell that the dragonet was female from the appearance of her face.

The dragonet had blossoms of yellow, gold, and pink, painted on a background of white and silver. A yellow and purple RainWing strolled into the clearing; her name was Kinkajou. She spoke quietly, very unlike her usual, peppy self,
