Blossom opened her jaws to answer, but Seastorm beat her to it.

"What do you mean, 'you didn't kill her' Venus?"

Venus snarled, "You know what I mean. I heard your chatty little IceWing friend say, 'One, you didn't kill Majestic, so you shouldn't have gotten the payment.' I'm not a fool."

Seastorm whipped her head around to glare at Hare.

The lavender IceWing mumbled, her talons scaredly flexing, "I guess I shouldn't have said it out loud." The kunzite IceWing lowered her gaze.

Blossom growled, rolling her eyes.

Three moons! Hare, you moon-licking fish-faced blob of dragon dung!

Venus snarled, "You may keep the gold, and the rest of the payment, Blossom. But mark my words. You will regret lying to Venus Flytrap of the LeafWings, HiveWings, and SilkWings."

Blossom watched the hybrid angrily turn away from the dragons, and Venus shot towards the hidden peak of Jade Mountain. Lightning flashed, and thunder rolled. Rain pattered on Blossom.

Hare shot an anxious look at the sky, and her eyes widened. She suddenly blurted, "I didn't mean to! I thought she was gone!"

Blossom tilted her head, waves of anger were radiating off of her. She glared at Hare suspiciously.

"Wait, how did you know she was supposed to be gone?"

Blossom noticed that Seastorm and Hare shared a look between the two of them, 'Is-she-serious-?-We-were-right-there'. Blossom glared at the two dragons, narrowing her eyes. Apparently, she wasn't supposed to know that.

Blossom snapped, "Were you spying on me and Venus?"

"No, we were on the landing platform, remember? We could hear your conversation. Besides, we saw her leave!" Seastorm protested.

Blossom nodded, her head in the clouds.

I saw her leave! How was she still there? Were we loud enough for her to hear us, even from inside Jade Mountain?

Suddenly, as if the sky was angry with them, the fog darkened. Seastorm, Hare, and everything disappeared.

"Blossom? Where are you?" Seastorm's voice sounded from behind her.

"Seastorm? Blossom? I can't see anything!" Hare's voice sounded far away, as if she was flying away from them.

"Blossom? Hare?"

"Blossom, Seastorm?"

Their voices were starting to overlap as the terror thickened in the air. Their voices started to get louder and louder, until Blossom snapped. "QUIET!" The RainWing hybrid roared.

The scared whimpers that followed empowered Blossom with fury. Blossom felt the fury and anger inside her were

"How am I supposed to focus with you two dingbats yapping like scared dragonets?"

Seastorm's voice, almost lost in the wind, sounded next to her, "Sorry."

The fog thinned, and Blossom could see almost clearly now, though the fog still clouded her vision, and rain still pelted the pearl RainWing hybrid. Seastorm's sympathetic, pearlescent blue face was the first thing Blossom saw. From the terror Venus had inflicted on Hare and Seastorm, she seemed like Venus should be an assassin.

"Seastorm." Blossom said, "Do you want your first hunting lesson now?"

"Sure but–" the SeaWing hybrid was cut off as a bolt of lightning slashed through the air.

"That almost struck me!" the SeaWing hybrid wailed.

I wish that it had.

"I think," Hare soothed, "Before we start Seastorm's hunting lesson, we should get out of the thunderstorm? Just so one of us doesn't get struck."

"No," Blossom snapped, "A true assassin would know how to hunt in any type of weather, thunderstorm or not."

Seastorm gulped, no doubt scared of the thunderstorm.

"Can we at least...." she trailed off when Blossom looked at her. Seastorm mumbled, lowering her gaze to look at her talons, "Okay, Blossom."

"You have night vision, Seastorm?"

Seastorm nodded. "Yes. I'm more SeaWing than RainWing."

"Use it then."

"What?"

"What?" Blossom snapped, "Use your night vision, you dingbat!" Seastorm recoiled. "Can you hear any animals besides dragons and humans?" Seastorm closed her eyes. "What do you hear?"

"I can hear pigs snorting; that's probably from the prey center. I can also hear some cows below."

Blossom nodded, "Now dive. Make sure to be fast, since they will see your shadow and run."

Seastorm nodded, then dropped like a rock, racing towards the rocky terrain. Blossom suddenly thought of her battle with Majestic.

Blossom noted that Seastorm dove with her wings pressed to her side; her talons were outstretched, and her mouth open. Seastorm landed, squishing a cow and grabbing another. She pressed her claws in, the cow's blood squirting out and dribbling down its side. Seastorm killed some more, and flew up with them hanging down from her talons.

"I did it!" the hybrid assassin roared.

Lightning flashed, and it lit up her face. Thunder rolled, drowning out the sound of the rain that was smashing down on Blossom.

Hare shouted, "We should get some cover before one of us is struck!"

Seastorm roared, "I agree with Hare! We should get cover before these cows are soiled!" B

Blossom turned, the rain drumming into her eyes, "There's a semi dry ledge down there! Maybe there? We can't go into Jade Mountain!" The rainwater filled her mouth as Blossom glared at the hazy gray cloud-covered sky.

"Why not?" Hare shouted.

"Because Venus!" Blossom roared.

Seastorm handed the cows to Hare as she dove to the ledge, hearing and seeing and feeling the thunderstorm. Lightning lit up the sky like a SeaWing's scales.

A shriek sounded as Seastorm plummeted into the dark abyss below.
