"Seastorm!"

Hare dropped Seastorm's cows and dove after her. Blossom rolled her eyes, but dove with Hare.

"Seastorm!"

Blossom's eyes adjusted to the rain-covered gloom, and she could see Seastorm's body falling. The SeaWing's usually blue and green body was still blue and green, with streaks of black scorched on her body, with areas of white. Her unusually shaped wings were billowing up, and her eyes were open, blank and life was fading rapidly from them.

Thud!

They all landed, the rain pattering and falling down their rain covered scales. Lighting clapped, and thunder rolled. The rain drenched the three dragons in the mountain-surrounded clearing. Seastorm's body was splayed out, her wings at awkward angles. Hare ran up to her body. Her serrated talons lightly brushed against Seastorm's arm.

"She's dying." the lavender IceWing sobbed, "Blossom, help her. Please!" Hare's usually bright eyes were dull with sadness. "Help her!"

What am I doing?

Blossom walked past Hare, heading for Seastorm's body. Blossom closed her eyes.

Enchant Seastorm of the SeaWings and RainWings to....to....to instantly heal, and if she ever reaches close to death, to come back from it.

"W-what are you doing to her? You're hurting her!"

Blossom scrambled into the shadows.

How could a simple healing animus spell hurt a dragon that's already dying?

"Hare, we have to wait. I need you to leave Seastorm's side and sit next to me. We need to wait."

Hare shook her head, the raindrops and tears flying off her face. "No!"

Blossom hissed with annoyance and grabbed the IceWing. Blossom pulled her into the shadows next to her.

"But—"

"Hare, stay here." Blossom cut the jamunia IceWing off.

Hare closed her snout slowly, the rain and tears dripping and falling off her face; she sadly watched Seastorm's rain-drenched and lifeless body. Blossom watched with her, the thunder and lighting drowned out all the other sounds. The whole place seemed dark, as if Pyrrhia and Pantala themselves were mourning for Seastorm. Rain pattered the ground, soaking Blossom to the bone.

Why did I do it? I should have let Seastorm die! I don't even need these moons-blasted water snorters!

The RainWing hybrid glanced at Hare, who had never taken her gaze off of Seastorm.

Why did I let her convince me to revive her?

A thought occurred to her. Blossom's breath caught in her throat.

Am I becoming....soft?

Blossom shook her head angrily.

No! I have no soul! I'm dark! Ruthless! I could kill everyone in the world, right now, with one snap of my talons! I'm the most powerful dragon in the world! Not even the Darkstalker could defeat me!

Blossom looked up. The rain pattered into her eyes, and lightning flashed, lighting up the sky.

But....I let Silver go. Although, he was going to die anyway. And Majestic. And I lied about killing her. And I healed Seastorm, where the old me would have let her die. And I let Hare go with us, instead of killing her to cover our-my-tracks. I should have killed all of them. I'm not soft! I'm not!

Blossom opened her jaws, a silent roar of fury escaping. The only thing that answered was the rain filling her gaping mouth and the thunderclaps sounding above her. Blossom blinked, the rain falling down her snout, dripping down her neck. The RainWing hybrid turned her fury-filled gaze to Seastorm's body. It was still lying there.

I guess Father was right. Animus dragons can't bring dragons back from the dead. Not that he's amazing. Turtle is a wimp, along with Mother.

Blossom watched Seastorm for a little bit longer.

Hare's eyes darkened. "She's dead." As Hare looked down, tears fell from her face. "She's dead," Hare sobbed, "Seastorm's dead." Seastorm's body suddenly gave a violent jolt, as if Hare's voice had revived her.

Hare gasped. Seastorm's body started to glow.

Seastorm started to chant, "Enchant this dragon to have one plus and one minus eye, and to never change their scales on their torso. They shall never find a cure for this animus curse!"

The glowing stopped, and Seastorm started to cough. Hare rushed to her side.

Animus magic can bring dragons back from the dead.

Blossom corrected herself, No. My magic can bring the dead back to life. Wait....if I can bring the dead back, could I bring legends to the world? Like....say....the Darkstalker?

Blossom's eyes glowed.

All animui are inferior to me! I am more powerful than all of them combined! I CAN REVIVE THE DEAD!

Hare's voice interrupted Blossom from her thoughts, "What did you see?"

Seastorm coughed, "I saw a room. I was in a dark hallway, with light at the end of it. Voices were whispering around me. Hare, they sounded like my family. But I could hear you crying, and Blossom whispering. I turned, and I could see you sobbing, and Blossom by my side, whispering."

Hare smiled, "Well, I'm glad you're back." "Who was your family that died?"

Blossom asked suddenly. "My mother, Aquamarine of the SeaWings, and my father, Durian of the RainWings, were killed. Me and my sister were the only survivors of....of the disaster. They died in the Sea Kingdom. That's why I didn't want to go. I didn't want to relive the memories."

"I took a mission," Blossom blurted, "The conch was the payment. That's why I didn't want you to grab it."

"To kill who?" Hare prompted, the rain making the jamunite IceWing blink multiple times.

"Silver....of the IceWings." Blossom admitted.

I hope Hare knows who he is, so I can get rid of her.

"You were sent to kill my cousin?" Hare snarled, the rain blurring her words.

Blossom snapped, "Yeah, and he was easy to kill." She was of course lying. Blossom didn't kill him. He would die to the elements, not her.

Hare glared, "I thought you were my friend!"

Blossom stalked up to her, "I have no friends."

Hare launched into the air. The rain pattered on everyone's scales, and lightning flashed as Hare yelled, "I don't ever want to see you again!"

Lighting crashed and thunder rolled as Blossom said the words, "Good! I don't ever want to see you again, you moon-licking turtle-faced blob of fish dung!"

Hare lifted into the air, winging away from Blossom and Seastorm.

I hope she doesn't come back.
