Blossom snarled. Grapefruit! He was the RainWing who had dared to try to hurt her.

What's he doing so close to my hut?!

Blossom crouched, ready to spring, when her wing brushed against something soft and hard at the same time. Spikes and waves of pain shot from her wing, spreading fast across her body. She painfully turned her head to look at what her wing had brushed. Bananas.

Three moons! Blossom thought.

Again, relentlessly, the pain spiked, rolled, and shot through her body. Blossom suddenly felt it cease. Maybe her pain sensors had overloaded.

A voice: "Blossom?" Blossom suddenly imagined herself twitching on a branch, spasms of pain overtaking her. She turned her head numbly up. Standing above her was Grapefruit.

The "scratch" that Blossom had given him two years ago had turned into a scar that went directly down his snout. It covered an entire eye, and stopped just above his ear.

"Are you okay?" Blossom grunted and sat up.

"Yes." He was helping her. That was a weakness.

"Listen–" Blossom didn't let him finish his sentence. She lashed out, slicing her dagger and shredding into his ruff. He yelped and clawed her eye, but she roared and leaped into the air. Blossom whipped out her dagger, blinking scarlet blood out of her eye.

Enchant this dagger to have the properties of dragonbite viper venom.

She threw the dagger at where she thought Grapefruit was, but the orange RainWing was already gone. Blossom growled and swooped down to grab Venom Fang and pull it off the branch.

"Blossom!" She whirled around, dagger at the ready, but she lowered it.

"Oh, it's you." She slipped the dagger back in the sheath.

Seastorm said, "I have fruit! And why did you seem sad to see....me....."

"You have wounds! Where did you—" Seastorm was cut off when she saw the wounds from the battle heal. "You are a fast healer."

Blossom grabbed almost all of the berries, except for the bananas. "Why don't you want the bananas?" Seastorm grabbed the rest of the fruit. "Ookay. By the way, you look like you were in a fight. There's blood everywhere....oh. Was it our target?!"

Seastorm casually ripped off a banana and ate it. Blossom's eyes widened a little bit. She was allergic to them.

Then she noticed Seastorm had stopped eating the banana.

"Why did your eyes widen?"

"Oh, I'm just thinking about something else."

Seastorm said, "We should get going. Majes—our target could already be halfway across the continent!" Blossom nodded.
They gathered near the tree after a hearty meal, and both launched into the air at the same time.

"So....are we just gonna fly into the Ice Kingdom? If we do, will we even make it to wherever we're going?" Val said, again holding the map.

Blossom responded, "I don't know about you, but I will." She didn't tell him about the bracelet.

"Why do you have a ring of a green stone on your leg?"

Moons. It's like she read my mind!

"It's just jewelry." She lied.

"Ah, okay."

"Thanks for teaching me how to navigate." Seastorm whispered, her voice almost lost in the wind.

"Well, it's a thing assassins need to know, for the missions they take."

They flew for a long time until the sky turned a shade of purple, signaling sunset. Blossom had eaten only a few pieces of the fruit, while Seastorm had eaten almost all of her fruit. When they touched down on cold, mushy snow, Seastorm collapsed on the ground, shivering slightly.

"Why—how—are—you—not—tired?" Seastorm panted, her sea-green chest heaving.

Blossom simply answered, "Oh, I just don't get tired easily." Seastorm slowly got up. "Well, we're here. Behold—the Ice Kingdom!"

Blossom looked up, up at the sparkling icebergs and snow. She walked further into the kingdom. Blossom closed her eyes, and took a step further into the Ice Kingdom, earning a hiss from Seastorm: "What are you doing?!"

The cold jabbed Blossom like an ice cold dagger to the legs. It slowly seeped into her white scales

"Maybe we —could—rest now?"

Blossom turned back, seeing Seastorm half-asleep, nodded yes.

"Sure. We can continue in the morning."

"Thanks...." Seastorm immediately closed her eyes, soft snores and the clattering of shivering teeth emitting from her. Blossom growled and gathered some leaves and whispered,

"Enchant these leaves so that when I put one on anything, dragon or scavenger, it turns them to the right temperature."

Seastorm was shivering, but when Blossom placed a leaf next to one of her dagger's sheaths, she stopped immediately. Val relaxed and shifted in her sleep, the cold's effects disappearing.

Blossom looked up and saw two moons full and one a crescent.

Oracle. Blossom pointed to the crescent. Perception. Blossom pointed to the second largest, a quarter moon.

And Imperial, the largest. Blossom pointed to the full one.

Blossom watched them trail slowly across the sky. A star shone brightly near them. Blossom saw it move slowly across the star filled sky.

If that's not a star.... Then what is it?
