Akshara smiled nervously as she stared at the white and golden beaded sari that lay in front of her. Last night while they were laying in bed, with Abhimanyu holding her close as always now, he'd gently asked if she'd go on a date with him. At first, she'd stared at him confused because they'd been going out on dates for months now. Dinner dates... ice skating rinks... icecream.. their Sundays.
But the look in his eye had told her that this date would be different and so she had softly nodded noticing his nerves, digging her head into his chest and slowly letting sleep overcome her.
Now staring at the white and golden sari that had been dropped off at her workplace, she knew she was right.
This date was going to be different.
She'd been planning on going home and changing after work when Liana her assistant had sheepishly mentioned that someone from Birla Enterprises had dropped off something for her.
And there Akshara had found a bouquet of flowers with the packaged white and golden sari, with a note written in his elegant handwriting.
"Akshu,
6:30 PM tonight.
Wear this please?
Charles will pick you up.
Yours,
Abhi"
Akshara had nearly fainted running her hands over the bit that said 'yours'.
"Mine...?" she whispered to herself almost like it was a question. And then shaking her head, she eyed the time and decided it was time to get ready.

Akshara stepped outside of the car where Charles had dropped her off a few minutes ago as she was greeted at the doorway of an elegant building. Heart beating fast, she picked up the bottom of her golden and white sari as she walked into the building.
Taking a few steps, she gasped stopping as she took in what was in front of her.
The entire room had been decked out in candles and fairy lights that were all twinkling. The room was dim but completely brightened up by the candles and fairy lights.
The best thing of all was in the centre was a table with two chairs where Abhimanyu was currently placing their meals.
She instantly felt her eyes become wet as she pinched herself.
Was this really happening?
And he looked so handsome in his white button-up shirt which he had rolled up to his elbows, her heart rate increased then and there.
Sensing her presence, Abhimanyu looked up from where he was setting up the meals and took in her form.
He looked at her entirely gobsmacked.... she looked mesmerisingly beautiful.
"Akshara" he let out a breath as he took in her presence.
Slowly, he walked across the room, in the little pathway he had created, and held out his hand to her.
"Abhi" she whimpered softly, emotional and overwhelmed at the work he had put in.
"You look so beautiful" he whispered as she slid her hand over his and he interlaced their fingers, his heart beating so fast. "Even more than what I had imagined when I picked out this sari"
"Abhi..." Akshara whispered again, the tears in her eyes threatening to fall, "You're going to make me cry".
Abhimanyu sensing how overwhelmed she was, pulled her into his embrace interlocking her in a tight hug as he wrapped one arm around her waist and another over the top of her head.
