A week had passed and Akshara had luckily recovered well. She was back up on her feet and was grateful for all of the Birla family's support who had watched her like a hawk despite reassuring all of them that she was fine and it was just a simple sprain. Including Abhimanyu who had given everyone strict instructions to not let her move and mobilise her ankle while she was healing while he was at work.
And now finally she was all healed and ready to head back to work.
The last couple of days of the financial audit at Birla Enterprises was also finally heading up which meant that after this Abhimanyu would also free up and have a little more time.
Except before that, they had a little hurdle to overcome.
A last-minute London business trip.
Abhimanyu had announced a couple of nights ago that he would have to leave for London, despite his deep desire to stay right next to her. He had asked her to come with him but had understood her refusal given that she had already taken some time off work the previous week. Her clients needed her and Abhimanyu admired her for her strong work ethic.
So Akshara stood in their bedroom the night before his flight, packing away his suitcase with some last-minute items.
She put in some spare socks and an extra turtle neck noting that it would be freezing cold in London as she checked all his items one more time.
Abhimanyu leaned against the door frame as he checked out his wife packing his items. Something about the action.... it just all seemed so domesticated and he couldn't believe it but he absolutely loved it. Only she had right over everything in his life and he adored it.
How on earth was he meant to leave her behind for a few days?
Sighing, he pushed off the frame and headed straight towards her wrapping his arms around her waist from the back. Akshara instantly relaxed against his frame like she always did.
"Mmmm... sure I can't change your mind about coming with me?" Abhimanyu asked pressing soft kisses down the soft skin of her neck.
Akshara instantly closed her eyes, resting her hands on top of his on her waist. "Hmmmm... you know you can easily change my mind... which is why we can't talk about this topic anymore," she said to him.
Abhimanyu chuckled at her response, twirling her around so she was facing him.
"Do you know how difficult it will be for me to stay away from you?" he whispered huskily, caressing her cheek with one hand.
Akshara leaned in further to his touch, biting her lip softly as she closed her eyes and let herself just rest.
"Don't go..." she muttered quietly.
And then she looked up with her doe eyes, right at him.
Setting his heart at an abnormally fast pace. God... he should've become a cardiologist for the effect Akshara had on him.
How perfect life had become.
Who even was he before this?
He leaned down and nuzzled his head in the crook of her neck, lifting her up gently so that she once again stepped up and rested her feet on top of his.
He groaned softly taking in the fresh scent of roses that she always carried with her.
His Akshara.
His wife.
"Believe me... I don't want to..." he whispered, pressing a kiss to her pulse point eliciting an audible moan from Akshara. Her sensitive spot.
"I have a surprise for you when I'm back" Abhimanyu whispered gently tugging at her soft spot again.
Akshara lightly registered the words, responding with an "mmm", too caught up in his actions and the effect they were having on her body.
The urge to be with each other and near each other was so strong. And the lingering physical separation because of his trip only added to their desires.
Abhimanyu lifted his head up and then pressed a tight kiss to her forehead. He then moved downwards to press a kiss on her nose as if remembering every feature.
Softly, he leaned down and gathered her in his arms bridal style and carried them both to bed.
"Abhi..." Akshara groaned playing with the collar of his shirt, "your packing..."
"Can wait" Abhimanyu whispered capturing her lips in a soft kiss as he placed her down and then hovered over her.
The light was dim, only letting the moonlight enter their room.
Akshara leaned up and wrapped an arm around his neck, bringing him in closer so that she could connect their lips again. Relishing the soft taste of each other's lips, Abhimanyu gently bit her lower lip as he seeked into her mouth which tasted like honey. Moaning, Akshara caved in, rummaging her finger over the buttons of his shirt, slowly undressing him.
Separating to allow for breath, Akshara looked up at him with love-struck eyes.
Her Abhimanyu.
Her husband.
Suddenly overwhelmed with emotion, Akshara caressed his cheek gently as he balanced his weight on top of her.
"Abhi... I - I lo-" she began shyly.
She wanted to say it.
And she was so sure he felt it too.
His eyes had already told her how much he loved her over a million times. Every day, he told her how much he loved her through his eyes. And that was more than enough.
But with him going away... suddenly she felt restless.
She wanted him to know.
Abhimanyu froze, knowing what was coming next.
He leaned down and pressed his lips back to her, swallowing the words that were coming next. His hands found themselves trailing below to explore as Akshara lost herself in the sensation.
Wrapping her arms back around her neck, she brought him closer to her.

Later that night, Akshara lay soundlessly in his arms cocooned in his embrace as he pressed soft kisses to her cheeks unable to help himself from wanting to remember every bit of her.
He wanted to say it.
In fact, he was dying to say it.
It rested on the tip of his tongue every single day.
He had lost count of the number of times he had gone to say it and then bit his tongue to stop.
Because that's why he had planned the surprise.
Akshara was so damn special.
She deserved his love confession to be special too.
Nothing could match up to how he revered her, worshipped her, and adored her.
But he would try.
Because she deserved every bit of happiness in the world.
"Sorry jaan... wait just a little bit longer" he whispered to a sleeping Akshara as he leaned down and brushed their lips together lightly before letting sleep consume him too.
