Abhimanyu watched her silently dwindle her hands as he tried to figure out what was on her mind and what had made her insecure. He could tell she was trying to word it appropriately as she fumbled in front of him... when realisation hit him.
His eyes widened.
Oh, he was a total idiot.
A complete utter idiot.
He had been waiting for the right moment.
But there was no right moment.
Not in love.
"Akshara..." he whispered, lifting her chin again so he was staring deeply into her brown eyes, the brown eyes that he could drown in because they reminded him of his home. "I love you".
Akshara gasped as another set of tears threatened to escape her, hearing the words she had been dying to hear... for so many years.
"I love you so much meri jaan... I am so sorry I had planned a surprise for you to say it but I just realised that this is here right now... this is the perfect moment... I am sorry I interrupted you that day... it was not because I don't feel the same... quite the opposite.... it's because I am head over heels in love with you"
Feeling overwhelmed, Akshara let her shoulders settle down as she felt emotions overcome her for the umpteenth time that day. She had known it but she had needed to hear it.
And then a second later, she punched his chest again and Abhimanyu chuckled at her response.
"That is one way to say I love you back" he chuckled pulling her closer, brushing her tears with his fingers.
"I love you Abhi.... you must already know how much... but it is even more than that" she whispered, resting her temple against his.
And that was all Abhimanyu needed because the next second he did what he had been dying to do. He pulled her up properly so that Akshara could sit up and straddle him, each leg resting on either side of him as he then pressed his lips onto hers. Akshara let out a moan straight away taking charge as she bit his bottom lip quickly and gained access. Their tongues met dancing a familiar dance, letting them twist and turn as they both gently explored each other.
"Love...you" Abhimanyu whispered again between kisses, "so so much'
When oxygen finally became an issue, they both pulled apart resting their heads against each other again.
Finally feeling at peace.
Like the puzzle had started.
"Home Abhi... I wanna go home" Akshara whispered cutely against him, looking at him with her glistening doe-eyes and Abhimanyu grinned kissing the tip of her nose.
"Home"
