Zuko's POV

Sokka looks so peaceful when he sleeps. He fell asleep on top of me after we made love last night. It was the most freeing experience of my life, better than at Lizhou. It was everything that I imagined it to be, but better. I couldn't stop thinking about Sokka's words. That he loves me and that he truly means it. I love Sokka more than anything, and to know that he loves me back means the world to me. I gently pushed the hair from his face to the side, still holding onto him. He is really handsome, funny, so intelligent, and kind. How did I end up so lucky with a guy like him? Sokka started to move around and then he opened his bright blue eyes. "Hey," I whispered. "Good morning. Do you know what time it is?" Sokka asked. "It's around 10ish." I replied, "I'm surprised that Katara hasn't come barging into our room to wake us up." Sokka shrugged. He then pushed himself up and kissed me tongue first leaving his bottom teeth to graze my lips. We kissed for a while until he eventually pulled back. "Do we have any plans yet for today?" I asked Sokka, still holding on to him. "I think we should head back to the Fire Capitol tonight so we should probably be on Appa at two. But before that we should definitely do something together. Do you want to go on a picnic?" "A picnic?" "Well I'm assuming that Katara and the others probably ate and once we get back to the Capitol I'm sure everything is going to be very chaotic and busy. So it might be nice to, you know, relax a little, spend some more one on one time." Sokka suggested. "Sounds great." He smiled and rolled off of me getting off the bed and I did the same. I tried my best not to stare at Sokka's body too much and he did the same for me. Our bodies were completely exposed to the other. "Like what you see?" I jokingly asked him, "Very much."

Sokka's POV

Zuko and I got changed, and I couldn't stop thinking about how our bodies collided together last night. They fitted into one another so well, and I now find myself incomplete without his touch, without his lips against mine. We then joined the others downstairs. Once we got downstairs I saw Katara doing Toph's hair while Aang was playing with Momo. "You guys were out for a while." Katara said once she noticed us coming downstairs. "Yeah we just slept in together. Is there any more breakfast left?" I asked her. "Yeah, I saved some for you guys, it's in the basket over there." "Thanks." I walked over to the basket and took it. "Where are you going?" Katara asked me. "Well since you guys already ate, I thought that Zuko and I could go on a picnic with it." She smiled. Then a messenger hawk flew in. Aang opened the letter and the amused look on his face vanished. "We need to leave now, everyone pack up your bags." Aang said. "Aang what's wrong?" Zuko asked, concerned. "It's your mother Zuko... The New Ozai Society attacked this morning and she was hit." "What?!" The fear and anger were so profound in his eyes. "Is she okay, what happened?!" "Your Uncle says that she is fine and no one was seriously injured, but he urges us to come back home as soon as possible." Zuko then ran upstairs and started packing his stuff. Within minutes everyone was ready for take off.

Zuko's POV

"Everything is going to be alright." Aang said placing his hand on my shoulder while Sokka grabbed my hand. "I hope your right. I, I just got her back, I can't lose her again." "You won't." Sokka reassured me. Once we landed Appa in the Captiol I saw Uncle waiting for us. "Iroh!" Toph called out running down to hug him. "Is everything alright Uncle? Where's my mom?" "Ursa is fine nephew, no need to panic. The New Ozai Society struck again but we were able to hold them off. Azula tried capturing Ursa but was unsuccessful." I sighed from relief. "I'm happy to see that everyone returned safely. Welcome back Toph." He smiled. "It's good to be back, The New Ozai Society was so boring." Toph exclaimed. "So Iroh, what time did this attack take place at?" Sokka asked. "8:30 in the morning." "How many of them were presented?" "Not too many, just Azula and 10 other men." Sokka paused and I could see the wheels in his head turning. "What materials was their war balloon made out of?" He asked. "I don't know, but Ursa said that it was cold and the colour was light grey." "Zuko did you fire the Warden from his job at the Boiling Rock?" He turned to ask me. "No, should I have?" Sokka smacked his forehead, "Sorry." I replied embarrassed. Sokka then smiled at me before talking again. "They aren't far from here. The fact that Azula was present herself is very significant. The metal was cold just like the coolers at The Boiling Rock. Only one factory in the Fire Nation makes that type of metal. My bet is that they are in the Fire Nation just north of the Captiol. I doubt that they would go all the way back to Port Lizhou. Azula needs support. She is back in the heart of the Fire Nation trying to now gain some urban support. My bet is that she's near the Sun Warriors Ruins, considering the fact that The New Ozai Society believes that was where the last dragon was conquered. The amazing feat of Sozin's traditions, the lifestyle they are trying to continue." He paused and I could tell that he just realized something important, "They are planning on attacking soon, probably some time this week. They are waiting for Zuko. They are waiting for you to do something rash, in vain, in order to save the people you care about. A reason to fight you and cloud your judgment. That's why they went for your mom. If we plan an attack now, we might be able to take the fight to them in the North, they won't expect it considering the fact that they don't have Ursa!" I was amazed. How on earth was Sokka able to come up with all of this with the little information he was given? "Yeah, but they are probably armed right now. They thought that they would have Ursa." Katara said. "I don't think so, Azula only sent out ten men, so I doubt that she is completely prepared right now." I said. "She'll expect us to stay here, but we won't and then bam! We attack first thing at dawn!" Sokka was now getting excited. "Hold up, I don't think we should fight now. Violence isn't the answer. We can't act rashly," Aang replied. "The Avatar is right, we need to convince the Fire Civilians to stay loyal to us and not Azula." Uncle Iroh agreed. "So we do nothing! They kidnapped Toph and my mom! Who's next and what if it's too late to do something. They sent crazy Blood bending assassins after us! We need to attack!" I yelled. Sokka then grabbed my shoulder pulling me back. "Zuko we were away for a while, even though you are right we should probably stay for a night or two. So you can lead your people and inspire them. Show them what an awesome leader you are." Sokka said, speaking quietly. As if he was only talking to me now resting his chin on my shoulder. "Okay, I'll do what you think is right." He smiled and gently kissed my lower neck, he then pulled away.
