Chapter 80

***TRIGGER WARNING- Violence and drugging mentions***

Pacing, he knew what he had to do. It was just a matter of executing it. Did she think I wouldn't find out? I find out everything!

He heard the door open and close. Perfect. She's here. He walked to her and greeted her with a very large smile.

"Hello, Sweetheart. How are you?" Sara could hear the venom dripping from every word from him.

"I'm fine. I just needed to take a drive, clear my head a bit."

"Good, good."

"Are—how are you?"

"Oh, I'll be fine in a little bit. I just have some clearing of my own head to do."

Sara didn't know what to say to that. He seems so deranged and dangerous right now.

"I do need to tell you how disappointed in you I am. We have been together for a long time, yet you still don't realize what I'm capable of."

"Wh—what do you mean? I've done everything you've ever asked of me. I've drugged Gwen, I dated Nate, I've even—" He silenced her with a slap across the cheek.

"You know I have a bug hidden at Gwen's house, and I know you told them it was me that put it there."

Sara was going to protest, but decided against it. She just looked at Damien, her hand covering her cheek where she had been slapped.

"You betrayed me. You went behind my back and exposed me." He pulled out the gun and looked at it while he was talking to her. "You do know what that means, don't you? I take care of people who betray me."

Tears formed in Sara's eyes. "Damien, I love you. It's always been you. Please, you don't have to—"

"Silence!" He pointed the gun towards her. "You of all people know how much I loathe backstabbers. You now are among them."

"Damien! No, don't do this! I wont do it again! I promise! Please don't!"

"You're right you won't do it again. Because there won't be another time for you."

She turned away from him and started running. Two shots rang out, and Sara collapsed on the floor.

Damien turned and walked out the front door.

While sitting in the den working on a dress,  Gwen's phone starts to ring.

She looked at the Caller ID and saw it was Becca.

"Hey, Becca! How are you guys?"

"Hey! We're doing good, how are you guys?"

"Ummm... well, it's been quite chaotic around here." Gwen told Becca about Sara stopping by the night before.

"Oh, wow. She just won't let up, will she?"

"No. I just— part of me wants to believe that she's sorry, but the other part reminds me she drugged me. I know I should forgive her, but—"

"Your instinct is telling you to be cautious."

"Yeah." Gwen sighed.

"Well, I would say trust your instinct. It's never lead you wrong before."

"You're right." Gwen cleared her throat. "So, what's up?"

"Well, the reason I was calling is because I wanted to ask y'all something. I want to surprise Nate with an at home date night with his favorite foods, but I'm not sure what all he likes."
