Jisoo and I hurriedly packed some of the food and proceeded to my room to pack some clothes as well. I don't know exactly why but I'm seriously getting scared as the time goes by. Something is just not right. I know that there really is nothing to fear or even worry about considering that there are modes of communication. Bo-gum or Dong-wook could easily let me know if there is danger coming.
A sudden banging on the door made us both stop whatever we were doing and looked at each other. I could tell Jisoo is nervous and so am I. She immediately came to me and held my hand.
Another bang echoed followed by Bo-gum's voice.
"Your Majesty?" I wanted to breathe a sigh of relief but I just couldn't. I hurriedly went to open the door and both my guards bursted in. I can urgency in both their faces and dread rise in my chest.
"What's happened?" I asked, trying to steady my voice because I'm so close to panicking. Jisoo wrapped a protective arm around my waist and I leaned in into her.
"They're coming. Yeong-su's men along with some Royal Guards are coming to get you here. We don't have much time. Let's go," Dong-wook answered, his eyes on the door and his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Go where?" Jisoo interjected, tightening her hold on me.
"Back to the kingdom. The Queen is no longer safe here. You will not be safe together and we have to do this," Bo-gum answered then looked at me.
"The time is now, My Queen. I could only stall for a few minutes but I can no longer guarantee everyone's safety in this room once they arrive in full force. You are our priority. My apologies but we have to go." My tears fell and looked at Jisoo. She gritted her teeth trying not to completely break down.
"I--," I paused and gulped hard. "I'm so sorry."
Before the latter could respond, the front door of my apartment blasted open and sure enough, I recognized the Royal Guards streaming inside. I looked around in a panic. Dong-wook shouted and Bo-gum grabbed my arm to make me duck because there was another bang and debris started falling.
"Get the Queen! Kill everyone else!" Chills ran through my body when I heard that voice. Yeong-su is actually here and I don't know what to do. I cannot fully use my powers because it will surely take the life I'm carrying. I looked again at Jisoo and she nodded in determination and understanding.
"Your Majesty, we need to go now!" Dong-wook roared amidst all the noise that would surely wake the entire building. But I know better. I'm sure that it's only in this unit. Bo-gum had the sense of protecting others.
"Go. You need to or all of us will get killed here. Just promise me you'll come back, Chaeyoung. I don't care how long, just come back and I will be here waiting for you," Jisoo urged, her voice breaking. I shook my head, already crying. I held on to her arm tightly, refusing to let go.
"No. I won't go anywhere without you, Jisoo. I can't," I sobbed. Jisoo touched my face gently and smiled a little sadly.
"You have to. At least for now, love. I promise, I'll wait for you. I don't care how long it will take you, but I will wait." I cried harder at that. There was another explosion and I saw from the corner of my eye how Dong-wook tried to fend off the guards with difficulty. It's just the 2 of them against which I lost count how many.
