I'm leaving for the mission in 3 hours, so I decide to ask Peter if he can come on a walk with me, he says yes and we walk around the park for a bit.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom" I say
"Alright, I'll wait here" he replies and I walk off
I go into my bag and look for the earpiece
"Мстители идут к вам, тогда я буду выполнять миссию. Будь готов " (Avengers are coming to you, I'll be completing the mission then. Be ready) I say
"Well done soldier" I hear an agent say.
I walk out the bathroom and go back to Peter
"I bought us ice cream!" He hands me mine
"Aww thanks Peter" I say
We sit down on a bench and eat our ice cream
"Alice, can I ask you for a favour?" He says
"Of course, what is it?" I ask
"Well, I've got this school project, and since you went through World War 1 I was wondering if you could help me" Peter says
"Of course Peter, when is it due?" I ask
"The week after the mission" he says
"Well we will get right on it as soon as I come back" I say
"Thanks Alice!" He says
There is a very low chance I will be coming back, bearing in mind I'm going to be killing Tony Stark and probably a few others in a few hours.
"We better go Pete, my mission is in a bit" I get up to leave
"OK, let's go" we walk back to the tower and I wave goodbye as he makes his way to May's home.
*Time skip- 2 hours*
I'm on the quin jet now, the flight will take 8 hours, we will find a hotel to stay in then start the mission the next day
*another time skip- 8 hours later*
We finally arrived and unload our things and went into the hotel. There weren't enough rooms for everyone, so Bucky and I along with Wanda and Vision went together in 2 rooms. We unloaded our things and immediately went to bed since it was late.
I woke up sweating and inhaling rapidly, I sat up quickly and put my head in my hands. I start crying and I get out of bed. I go to the bathroom and lock the door. I pour water over my face and sit on the cool floor. I recall what happened and started sobbing again.
"Doll? Doll what's up?" I hear Bucky ask
He tries to open the door but finds out its locked
"Darling please. What happened?" He tries again
"N-nothing Buck, I-I'm alright" I say
"Then come out or I'll break this door down" he says
"No, no Buck I don't wanna come out yet" I reply
I know he will break the door down anyway so I get up and get some tissue. I wipe my eyes and look at myself in the mirror
"Shit" I say
"Shit? Right that's it I'm coming in" Bucky says
"No Bucky please don't" I look around frantically, looking for somewhere to hide. Suddenly I hear a bang on the door then it opens, he looks at me and I slump to the floor.
"Alice? What's going on?" He keeps on staring at me
"I-I've lost control" is all I can say
"What do you mean?" he asks
"This, Bucky. I've got fucking tail and horns, what animal even is this? I've lost control" more tears come
"Surely it's not that bad?" He says, grabbing my hand and stroking it gently
I pull it away "You don't get it Buck, the more it happens the longer it lasts, and now it's too late" I look away
"Too late?" He replies
"I'm stuck like this" I point to the horns
"Well...I think this" he taps my horns "is beautiful" he says. Then he cups my face and wipes away my tears
"I'm a monster, Buck" I say
"Don't say that! Because if you're a monster then I'm a monster! You are the best person I've ever met, and I'm so glad you are not gone forever. I don't care what bad thing happening to you, as long as you are here. You are beautiful and perfect Alice, you can't call yourself a monster just because of what you look like" Bucky says
"I'm sorry" I whisper
"It's OK Doll" I lean my head on his shoulders
"Alice, horns" he laughs
"Uhh, what am I gonna do Buck? I feel weird and I have to explain this to the others! How am I going to fit in outside when I look like this" my tail swishes without me thinking about it
"Great, it's got a mind of it's own" I say
"Doll, we will figure this out OK? Let's go to bed, we have a mission tomorrow" Bucky says
"Alright" I say. Bucky offers his hand and I take it, he pulls me up then walks me so I'm infront of the mirror
"See? You're perfect" he says
"Alright Buck" I giggle
"Yay! My baby is happy again" he says
"Don't push it Barnes" I laugh again
"Noted" he replies
We get into bed, Bucky falls asleep instantly, but I lay there, uncomfortable and scared.
