"Ok, I'm really going to need an explanation for this one." Bakugou says.
Today the gods of randomization had chosen Todoroki. In return, he gets a field in the middle of nowhere as todays after school location. Tea shop made sense. The cinema is like teenage bullshit one oh one. Toy shop, childhood memories. Everything up until now he has understood. But a random field? This is something he could not even consider as a favorite place. Especially not for one of the wealthiest kids in the class.
"Didn't you tell Sero that you don't need a reason?" Todoroki asks.
Bakugou slowly blinks a couple times as he realizes that that was what he had said. He had just grown used to the back stories given with each place that he expected one.
"Ok, I'll give you that." Bakugou says. He sits down in the tall grass and looks over the hills.
"You actually plan to stay? There's not much to do, or entertainment." Todoroki says, looking down at him.
"Well, what do you usually do when you're here?" Bakugou asks. He lays back against the ground.
"I just sit. Sometimes I'll bring a book to read." Todoroki says.
"Then that's what we'll do. Just enjoy the peace. Probably the only peace I'll be getting for a while for sure." Bakugou jokes.
Todoroki listens, and sits down beside Bakugou. They look out over the greenery. It was rather peaceful. A huge difference from the noise in the city, and they weren't even that far from the city. If you focus on the horizon you can make out the shape of buildings.
"Can I ask you why you put your name on the list? You are the only person I've seen in class that hasn't shown any particular interest in romance." Bakugou says after a while of silence.
"I don't know. Everyone seems to think dating is something everyone needs to experience in high school. I figured I would give it a shot since that's what everyone says is normal." Todoroki says.
"But you're not normal." Bakugou says. Todoroki hangs his head and nods. "That's not a bad thing. No one in our class could be considered normal. Some do a good job faking it, but it's true. You don't have to force yourself to date for the sake of appearing normal."
"That's what you're doing now." Todoroki says.
"No. I'm doing this because the idea of having people fight to date me interested me. I wanted to see who would win." Bakugou says with a small smile. "If you don't want to date then that is fine."
"I never said I don't want to. I just don't understand the importance of it being now."
Bakugou looks back over the field. The sun was starting to make it's descent. He nods as the explanation starts to form in his mind. One that would help the boy next to him understand.
"Time is the reason they find it so important." He says as he stands up. He offers a hand out for Todoroki to take. Once they both stand they begin to make their way down the hill they were on. "For a lot of people, highschool is were they feel they'll have the most time to date around and find someone. And, for thw most part that's true. After highschool you start working. Work fills up your life, and soon time flies past you. So, that's why our classmates find it so important to date in highschool. They think they'll run out of time."
"I guess that makes sense." Todoroki says. He looks back up the hill briefly "Time does go by too quickly."

Bakugou thanks the bus driver for having waited for them. He waves him off and they go through the school gates. They had barely made it back to the school in time for curfew. They probably shouldn't have stood at the base of the hill while the sun set, but something told Bakugou they should stay for it. It was something in Todoroki's eyes. Even without knowing why that place was his favorite, it was obvious to the blonde that it held a lot of personal meaning behind it.
Todoroki pauses before opening the door to the dorms. He looks back at Bakugou, who was very confused in that moment. If they don't get in soon the security bots would report them.
"Thank you for staying in that field with me, Bakugou. It's been a while since I was able to share it with someone."
"You don't need to thank me for that. Now let's get inside before we get in trouble, Icyhot."
Todoroki nods and opens up the door. When they get inside practically the whole class was sitting in the common room with worried looks on their faces. Aoyama rushes forward and takes Bakugou in his arms.
"You had us so worried, staying out that late." He says after releasing the tense boy. "We were beginning to wonder if you two had been killed, or worse."
"We made it back by curfew. What are you talking about?" Todoroki asks.
"Well Kaachan returned with the others well before curfew. So naturally when it was growing closer to curfew we got concerned. It was odd. Especially since Kaachan is usually in bed half an hour ago." Midoriya explains.
"I'm telling you, Midoriya, if Bakugou wasn't on that bus before curfew that driver would hunt him down personally just to see how the quest went." Tsuyu says.
"I really want to meet this dude all of you guys talk about. When is it my turn?" Kirishima asks.
"You'll get your turn." Bakugou says with a yawn. "I'm going to bed."
After he's gone everyone turns to Todoroki, hoping for details on the quest's results. He stared back at them in confusion and discomfort. What did they want?
"So was the bus driver guy that they talk about there?" Kirishima asks. All he recieves is a shrug.
"He has long silver hair that is cut in a way that covers one eye with his bangs, and has a tattoo on his left arm that shows a cyclops." Mina says.
"He had silver hair." Todoroki says.
The ones that have already seen him share a look. Honestly theyoved past the idea of this being weird to honestly just finding enjoyment in this guy that has dedicated his hours to dropping Bakugou and his dates off just to get a glimpse of teen drama.
"I'm going to go to bed. We have school tomorrow." Todoroki says, already heading to the stairs. Midoriya follows after.
"I hope it's my turn soon. I want to meet cyclops bus driver." Kirishima says with a whine.
"Well if he continue choosing how he has been you could end up being the last one." Mineta says. Kirishima pouts.
"Don't say that, man. Being last would be the worst." Kiri says.
"We can focus on these things tomorrow. We should follow the lead of the others and head to bed." Iida says. He is already pulling people up to usher into their rooms.
One by one the lights go off in the dorms. Everyone excited for what tomorrow will bring.
