First Day

Like most days Bakugou was one of the first people to get up. After getting a cup of coffee he saw the paper on the table. The pen was no longer laying beside it but on it. This was enough to tell him that people actually must have written on it. Curious he approached it.

The amount of names on it was surprising. This many people in his class actually wanted to give it a shot? Did he make it sound too fun or were they actually interested in him? He hadn't expected this many people.

"Did you not know you were that popular?" Aoyama, one of the few who hadn't signed his name, asked. He could see the shock in his fellow blond's eyes.

"I'm an asshole." Was his response. He was seriously confused.

He had gotten Aoyama to laugh with that answer. Clearly Bakugou didn't understand dating in this day an age. Most people are attracted to red flags. As long as they have enough good qualities they can ignore the bad. Plus, they were only teenagers. It's not like they were looking for life partners. They could afford to make a few mistakes, not that he was saying dating Bakugou would be a mistake.

Iida was the next one downstairs. He heard the laughter and looked over to see the two blond boys. He saw the look on Bakugou's face as he looked at the list. Confusion was evident in the way his eyes took in the names.

"I don't understand why at least half these people would choose to participate." Bakugou continued, ignoring the laughter. "I don't think I've even talked to a couple of them. If I have then I don't remember any of it."

Iida had to resist the urge to scold him. How could he go almost the whole year and still not have conversed with some of his classmates. It's not like they had a big class. He had signed up, but only because it was his duty as class rep to take part and observe the activities his classmates participate in. If a contest is held he has to participate as well, even if he has no shot at winning.

"I must admit though, it will be interesting to see how well they will do. I have high hopes for a couple of them but most easily get on my nerves."

Bakugou had a spark in his eye that Iida had only ever seen when the boy was actually enjoying something. It's mainly seen when the hot head is fighting. Who knew a dating challenge would get that spark from him?

"Iida, why are you just standing here?" Momo asked with a yawn.

"He's hasn't even started the scoring but he's already enjoying his little challenge." Iida quietly answered. "I've never seen him this interested in anything outside of training. It's amazing."

Momo looked over Iida's shoulder to see what he was talking about. She saw the slight smile Bakugou had and Aoyama beside him, telling him about how everyone who signed approached it. She could easily see why Iida was so entranced. This was a rare moment that very few would get to see.

Seeing as how more people signed up than he expected Bakugou had to get a notebook to keep score. He thought that given how the challenge was set up only a few would agree and he would have been able to tally it in his head. Now he had a special notebook.

He had decided to give each classmate a number. They don't know who is who, so if they got ahold of it they couldn't tell anything. The pages themselves are also divided up so one part is positive and the other is negative. However he uses special symbols so they wouldn't know which is which.

All throughout the day he's been keeping his eyes and ears open. He didn't want to miss much. He had told them before class that the competition was starting and he would be watching.

Of course, given what this was about, a few tries to get it in good with Bakugou right off the bat. Offering kind words and treats. Thinly vieled flirty comments were thrown his way. Even his own squad, who had all signed the paper, were treating him a bit differently by offering him some of his favorite foods off of their trays at lunch instead of attempting to steal from him. Overall the first day was very annoying.

Before bed he took out different folders, each with the corresponding number, and tallied up the scores. Most had less than the amount he had started them with while a few actually had a couple more points. Those were the ones who didn't treat him too differently, only offering up a smile every once in a while or making a comment or two on something they had noticed.

As he laid down that night he wondered how long it would take for them to realize what he was judging them on and what he was looking for. Sure impressing him was a part of it, as was making him feel special, but that wasn't the main portion of his scoring. That was only a small bit. The main part deals with the person themselves since, to him, they would be the most important person in the relationship.
