"Race you to the top."
"Bet."
The two boys step up to the rock wall and let the man supervising latch the hook onto their harnesses. As soon as they are both given the ok, they begin to scale the wall with impressive speed.
It was Kirishima's turn for the quest date, and he had brought Bakugou to a place where you can free run, and climb things. There are rock walls, fake telephone poles, ropes and bridges in high places, and even a zipline. They also have mazes made with pipes and rope obstacles that you climb through. All of it is indoors. The place is huge, and the entry fee is reasonable for what you get to do. Food is supplied here as well.
Kirishima barely makes it to the top and rings the bell before Bakugou does. Bakugou curses a bit as they jump down, letting the safety line and gravity get them down quickly and safely. Despite his complaints, Bakugou is proud of Kirishima for beating him. This was a testimate to his skills when it comes to climbing. It also showed confidence in himself to not make a mistake.
When they get back down a few kids run up to them, saying how cool it was that they got up that wall so quickly. Kirishima smiles and tells them that with a lot of practice they will be able to do the same.
After the kids run off to the easy level rock wall, Kirishima and Bakugou make their way to the food area to get something to eat. They have been here for a little over an hour, and have enjoyed all of the running and climbing they've done so far. They each grab some food and sit at one of the tables.
"I never knew you were so good at this sort of thing, Shitty Hair." Bakugou says before taking a bite of a chicken strip.
"Ma brought me here a lot whenever she would get time off work. Especially when I told her I wanted to be a hero. She taught me how to do all of this." Kirishima says. He sips his drink and looks over at the free run area. "Parkour training with her was the best. We would play tag, which is a whole lot more fun when you're vaulting over stuff."
"Sounds like it. How come you never show these skills in class? You would probably have a higher grade if you implemented some parkour in the lessons like I do." Bakugou asks.
"I don't know. I guess it's just not as fun when a grade is involved. Everyone is so serious, and free running is supposed to be fun. When I'm out with Amajiki and Fat Gum on patrol I use those skills if we have to chase someone, but that's because my instincts take over. I know if we don't catch that guy then things can go so badly. But in class, eh." He shrugs his shoulders.
"I guess I understand that." Bakugou leans back in his chair, and looks up at the ceiling. People were climbing on the obstacle course overhead. A bridge of small boards that sway when you step on them to give you the sensation of it not being stable. "So what's next. Elevated rope course, or free run?"
"We already have the harnesses so let's do the rope course, then finish off the evening with a game of tag."
"Wanna make it a race? First to the zipline wins?" Bakugou challenges.
"Oh you're on."
With that they throw out their trash and run to the line to get onto the course. It was fairly long, but they were moving up at a decent pace. They get up to the attendant who tells them the rules as she hooks them to the safety line. Just your standard don't fuck around or you could get hurt spiel. And then it was up to the ropes.
The rope course has five levels, each getting harder as you get higher. The zipline is on level five, but to get there you have to get through the other four. Each level also has different paths to take. So they each choose a different path and start.
