For the past few days, which turned into a few weeks

Most of the time, when someone would mention Jake or she had time to ponder

Y/n found herself thinking about what would happen to them

Mentioned many times that Sooyeon was no longer with Jake, what will happen?

Will they 'break up'?

She was always lost in thought which led to times when she wasn't focused on what was actually happening to her at that moment

It distracted her during work, or her personal life

Because she didn't want them to break up, if break up meant they would finally date for real, then she would want that

For the past weeks hearing Mirae's and on topic about Jake and her, she confirmed herself

That she indeed caught feelings for Jake

She was honest about it, but not towards Jake. She felt embarrassed to say it to him, where it always repeated in her head that he had only broken up with someone he loved so much

Why would he return the feelings now?

At present time, Y/n was in Mrs.Sim's house

Long story short they still haven't told Mrs.Sim about their 'break up' so Mrs.Sim invited over to talk to her and spend time together

They were both in her kitchen, Mrs.Sim was baking cookies and cupcakes and Y/n volunteered to help her

She was mixing the batter as Mrs.Sim was placing the cookies in the oven

"How have you two been these days Y/n? You two seem more open about your relationship now than before"

"We're okay Mrs.Sim, just the usual," I awkwardly laughed

She smiled as she walked towards me and checked on the batter, "I'm just so happy, every time I ask about you, Jake always has something to say with a smile on his face"

"Ahh, that's nice Mrs.Sim..." I wasn't sure what to reply with

'With a smile on his face?'

"Dear, I've been meaning to ask you something?" she says as she added some other ingredients to the batter I was mixing

I asked her what the question was and she looked at me with a smile

I was nervous about what she wanted to ask me, 'Did she find out!?'

"What do you love about my son?"

That's when I paused, no one has really asked me about that

Even when I told Mirae that I liked him, she never asked me

Here I am and his mom is the one asking me this question, but I didn't hesitate

"At first since he was just my boss, I didn't know what to expect... But as I got to know him more..." I found myself smiling and slowly mixing the batter

"He was gentle and caring, he knew how to treat everyone respectfully without anyone feeling uncomfortable around him"

"He's caring, nice, an amazing person to be with. I felt like, I could be myself around him and tell him my problems without any judgment but comfort instead"

"I love his smile, the way his face glows when he does something he loves, I can tell he loves his family a lot too which I find very adorable"

I looked at Mrs.Sim embarrassed but she allowed me to continue

As I imagined all the time I've spent with Jake, every time I did spend my time with him

"I enjoy and love every second I am with him"

"Overall, I'm just in love with him"

I looked at Mrs.Sim again and she had her hands clasped together with a bright smile on her face

"No wonder why Jake loves you," She hugged me tightly and I hugged her back

Finally, all those thoughts about Jake had been let out, and I was genuine

I was only thinking of him and nothing else when I expressed everything I feel for him

"I'm home!" we hear the familiar voice from afar

Mrs.Sim pulled away from the hug and called Jake saying we were in the kitchen

I finished mixing the batter so I slowly poured them into the cupcake molds 

I took a glance when I saw Jake enter the kitchen and he greeted us both 

Hugging his mom first before he placed an arm around me and greeted me 

"Y/n I'll just check on Jake's father upstairs, I'll be back," she says and it was only Jake and I left in the kitchen

After pouring the batter I placed the bowl down and looked at Jake, "Tired?" I asked him and he nodded

She was surprised when suddenly Jake walked up to her and hugged her, she was confused

"What were you doing all day love?" he asked still hugging her, Y/n was caught off guard by this situation

It felt like she couldn't reply at all, it was like her body had stopped functioning

"I was here, baking with your mom..." she was able to reply, "I was tired the whole day, I want to fall asleep"

She patted Jake on the shoulders, "You should go and sleep then," Jake pulled away from the hug but had his hands on her arms

"Should I?"

Y/n still couldn't speak properly so she just nodded

Y/ns eyes widened and she froze in spot, Jake had given her a peck on the forehead

"Goodnight," he says before walking away

Y/n choked on air when he finally left the kitchen, "what—what the fuck?" she stared blankly at the wall and the only thing that made her snap out of it was when Mrs.Sim entered the kitchen again

"Shall we place these in the oven, dear?"

"Sure—sure!"
