Scrolling through my phone I furrowed my eyebrows looking at the nonsense emails I'm receiving

"What the..." I looked at them and some of them were actually part of work, most of them were just spam

"We've arrived Mr.Sim," I looked away from my phone and looked around realizing the car had stopped and I'd arrived home

I smiled and looked at Daewan, before saying "thank you, you can leave if you don't have anything else to do"

I slowly got out of the car and waved goodbye to Daewan before turning around to head inside

Walking there while removing my necktie I opened the door and closed it gently after entering

I removed my shoes and I couldn't help but immediately notice that the house was filled with a delighted smell

When I walked further inside the house I heard a few noises in the kitchen, some rattling and distant talking

Deciding to go there I walked to the kitchen and was greeted by the smell of, "cupcakes?" I spoke and my mom turned around when she heard me speak

She smiled when she saw me and wiped her hands on her apron

"Jake your home," she called me softly, I walked up to her and greeted her before looking at the cupcakes being baked in the oven

"They look delicious"

"You can have the first bite when they're baked," she says as she looks at them as well, checking to see if they were baking well in the oven

"How was work?" she asked as she slowly started cleaning up the things she used that were on the counter

I roll up my sleeves and began to help her clean as well,  "it was alright," I answered her question while doing so

"We'll have dinner soon so you should get changed into some comfortable clothes," she says looking at me still seeing me in my suit, she patted my back signaling me to head upstairs

I chuckled and nodded my head, "let me help you clean first," I said and she just nodded with a smile

We were all seated at the table about to eat dinner, it was I, mom, and dad

Dad then motioned us we could start eating and we did

"How was your day?" dad asked me as I got some food for myself,  "it was alright..." I say not knowing what else to reply with

He just nodded and chuckled, "how's the company, is it doing well?" he asked and I nodded

"You have nothing to worry about dad, everything is fine," I smile at him and he chuckled, "well if there was something, I'd know about it anyways"

"Aigoo, your already old, let Jake handle it he's responsible anyways," mom spoke up

"Hyunmin has been helping you too right?" I nodded

Hyunmin my brother who also runs the company but in other branches abroad, I just focus our branch here

It was like that for a while, talking about work-related things before it got quiet while eating but mom spoke, "I know I ask this almost every day but when are you bringing your girlfriend?" my mom said with a hint of excitement and anticipation in her tone

I looked at dad who cleared his throat and nodded facing me, "yes... About her, you should bring her here sometime to meet us"

Mom nodded her head agreeing with dad

I chuckled nervously, "she's still quite shy to meet you both... I don't want to pressure her"

"She shouldn't! We're very nice Jake, besides we won't scare her off. I'm sure she's lovely!"

I was nervous, I may have lied to them that I wasn't dating Sooyeon anymore and I was dating someone new

This 'new girlfriend' of mine that I've dated 'for a year now' is just what my parents believe because of my lie

As they continued talking about her and asking me more questions, it was obvious that they were now impatient. They wanted to meet her badly, especially since I'd been telling them about her for a year but never really showing her who she was

"Well I hope we get to meet her soon Jake, me and your dad will be happy to meet her"

"Of course..."
