"Ouch..." Jean yelped as Maria tried to fix his wig. "Jean stop moving so much, your hair is still sticking out." She scolded. "You're yanking at my scalp, not the wig," he growled in response.

"There. That's much better... As far as that goes." The woman muttered and sighed. "What's that supposed to mean?" Maria shrugged. "At least Armin looks like Historia. It's cute even, but you don't even reassemble Eren in the slightest." Connie snickered.

"It's not like I chose to do this..." Jean muttered under his breath. "We don't have a choice," Levi butted in, with his arms crossed. "Say, if things go the way we planned them, do you really think they will keep believing Jean is Eren and Armin is Historia?"

"This body-double mission is a gamble, but those idiots bought it the first time."

Things had been blurry during their ride to Stohess, but now that Maria could take a good look at Jean, she noted the teen did not resemble the titan shifter boy in the slightest. If not, the wig looked terrible, as if he was wearing a mop on his head. But who would've been fit to be Eren's body double, besides Jean...

After Hanji arrived at the cabin, she gathered everyone in the main room to tell the news about Pastor Nick. Apparently, the man was murdered the very same morning in the Trost District barracks. Hanji had told them she figured the Church would want to deal with Nick since he was cooperating with the Scouts but instead found out the Interior Military Police tortured Pastor Nick to find out what information he spilled to them. Hiding his identity had proven to be useless after all.

Blaming herself for being too careless, Hanji told them about the nails that had been ripped off in order to make him talk, but Levi figured the man hadn't spoken a word. His exact words being; "People that talk, talk after one. If they don't, peeling more won't make a difference."

It did make sense to Maria, but the man had died a horrible death non the less. Although they probably had no idea their squad had caught wind of the Reiss family, it was almost certain the government was up to no good.

This proved to be right when Nifa brought them a message from Erwin. Their eyes were fixed on the Levi squad and they had to leave the cabin immediately without leaving a trace that they had been there.

And now they were getting ready to enter Trost district. Something Maria didn't particularly feel happy about.

"How about you though? Is your leg well enough? We sure did walk a long time, without you using your crutch." Jean questioned and Maria snapped out of her thoughts before sighing. "I can't exactly keep using it when we're entering Trost. I would only slow you all down. Besides, I feel fine. Hanji fixed my gear. It holds everything together pretty well." She mused yanking on Jean's wig one last time, making the teen wince.

"Okay, time to go." Levi interrupted. "I want Eren and Historia to ride along the wagon."

The group had finally entered Trost, leaving the real Eren and Historia behind. Hanji's squad would keep a close eye on them and alert Levi if they'd see anything suspicious. However, Maria had an uneasy feeling about their trip to Trost. She wasn't sure if it was because of their body double mission or her walking through the streets she knew so very well.

Jean watched Maria pull her hood over her forehead just a bit more before she slumped a bit to hide the rest of her face, but decided not to make a comment about it.

"Try not to walk in a cluster. We'll stand out." Levi spoke. "Eren and Historia, just act normal." He made short eye contact with Jean and Armin before walking on.
