Bayverse Mikey × Stressed Reader

Headcanon: Mikey learned some sign from videos he found besides the chopsticks cat. Reader can speak sign, but only does when stressed, overwhelmed, or overstimulated.

(Y/n) sat in the lair waiting for their boyfriend and his brothers to finish training. The human was sitting on the couch and was on their phone, playing cut the rope. Yelling soon broke out of the dojo as Leo and Raph got into an argument again, and (Y/n) could hear both Maria and Splinter trying to break the two up. The human turned off their phone and covered their ears. The yelling getting louder and louder in their ears, echoing so loud it was like being inside a ringing bell. Mikey and Donnie exited the dojo as the two eldest turtles got scolded by their sensei and the jaguar. Mikey smiled when he saw his partner on the couch and he bounded over to sit with them. But the smile dropped when he saw the state his partner was in. They were hunched over and had their ears covered as small tears peaked out from their shut eyes. Mikey sat next to them slowly and gently put a hand on their back, startling them. "Hey, Angelcake, you okay?" (Y/n) started signing and it was a little confusing for the turtle. He was getting every few words since he was still somewhat learning the basics. "I'm sorry, the yelling from the dojo got me overwhelmed and overstimulated. Sorry." Mikey took their hand and brushed his thumb over the human's knuckles. It helped a little in calming (Y/n) down a bit, but it gave Mikey an idea. The turtle got up and grabbed some soda and ice cream from the fridge. Then a fluffy blanket, and then went back to the living room. (Y/n) was then wrapped up in the blanket and placed on Mikey's lap. He fed the human the ice cream and rubbed their back in comfort. Mikey then, to the best of his abilities signed to
(Y/n). "It's okay, I'm hearing." The human let out some shaky giggles at the attempt to sign. He did good, despite having three fingers but he signed hear instead of here and it made (Y/n) feel better. "What, what I do, baby?" The human shook their head and leaned into their boyfriend's plastron. "You signed hearing instead of here." Mikey then started to laugh too. "Sorry, I've only learned some basics and a few phrases." (Y/n) thought it was cool he knew some sign language. "You did good, even though you have three fingers." Mikey smiled at that and hugged the human he had. "Maybe I could help you practice incase this happens again." Mikey seemed to like the idea and nodded. "Sure, but right now we are gonna watch a movie." The two older turtles and Maria came out of the dojo, the jaguar girl dragging her boyfriend by the mask tails. "You two okay?" (Y/n) nodded at Maria and helped Mikey pick a movie. "What about you and Leo?" Maria gave a threatening, fanged smirk before answering. "Yeah, I just gotta teach him a small lesson on using his smart mouth with me." Maria then dragged Leo to his room and Mikey signed again to (Y/n). "Yeah, a intense lesson." The human laughed and snorted as the movie started, and fell asleep in the middle of the film.
