Monday morning came in like a wrecking ball. No one sane likes Mondays anyway. My alarm went off making me groan. I just wanted five more minutes to rest, that would be perfect. I rolled over in bed and reached out for it blindly from under my covers. I missed a few times before finally landing on the snooze button. I sighed and popped my head out from under the blanket blinding myself.
"Five more minutes okay world?" I asked my empty room and hid back under the covers.
There was a knock on my closed door, I didn't answer for obvious reasons. My mom popped her head and smiled. She could see that I was not about to get up easily. She silently walked over to my bed and slid the comforter off me in one swift movement. I shivered and tried reaching for the covers again, but she had been holding them. I groaned and rolled over hoping they were on that side. Of course, they weren't. I peeked through my left eye to see where the blanket was only to find my mother. I sighed knowing I couldn't blame her for how cold it was every morning. She was at the ripe age to have menopause. God bless her soul.
"Come on Maxy you have to go to school and get a good education so you can get a good job, unlike the rest of us." She joked, "Breakfast will be read in a few. Get your lazy butt up or you'll miss your favorites." she sang as she left the room with my blanket.
She had left the door wide open knowing how much I hate my door being open. She was forcing me to get up in a gentle way. Slowly I got up with a loud yawn. I took a quick shower, got dressed then headed down to where my little family was at eating breakfast. My twin sisters both drank their coffee in sync my mother enjoying her pancakes. I sat down with them and ate my favorite breakfast kindly made by Mom. I noticed the time and nearly bolted out of my chair.
"Oh shit!" I ate my breakfast quickly, nearly choking on it. I gave my mother her goodbye kiss and ran out the door with my car keys. I was not about to be late by running. Once I arrived at school, I parked my car and tried to calm my breathing before I stepped out. I made it on time thankfully since I lived so close. I sat in the car watching the other students walk by until I spotted him. Oh, sweet blue eyes...the things I've been going through because of you... I must have stared hard because he started looking around. He must have felt where the stare was coming from because he was looking in my direction with a smirk on his face. Self-centered beautiful boy...God, why do you have to smirk at me all the time? I tensed up. That same smirk gets me every time. It's like he knows it's me he's looking at.
He looked away when a girl ran up to him. Something inside me boiled when I saw him laugh and smile at her. She was dressed in a too-short-for-school skirt and a pink crop top with a light-yellow tank under. Disgusting...I hate females...no offense to those out there. I sighed and got out of my car, locked it, and headed inside. The school was loud as usual but felt quiet as Alex wasn't coming today. He had an appointment and obviously won't come after. Walking through the hallway I felt a rough hand grab my arm and instantly knew who it was. The asshole of the school, Jackson McFarlen, or Jack for short, and his crew who always bullied me.
"Well if it isn't the school's fresh meat. Whacha doing 'round my hall?" Jack asked sneering.
"What does it look like? I'm going to class." I answered slightly annoyed
Everyone in the hallway seemed to ignore what was going on. Fucking great! No one here to help the new kid? Such an 'amazing' school! Jack wasn't too happy with my reply or the way my face looked while saying it because he pulled his fist back to punch me. I inhaled deeply and prepared myself for the impact that was to come. That is until someone spoke up.
"Wait, Jack, let's give him one of 'those'." One of his goonies laughed.
"Heh, that's perfect! I haven't done one of those in fo'ever!" Jack laughed and dragged me towards the bathroom.
