Meanwhile, Brina was at the mall with Maki, Nobara, and Yuji, browsing through the racks for shoes. "Hey Brina, how are you holding up? I mean, after everything that happened." Yuji asked her, concern on his face.
"I'm ok, I ain't tripping over it, I mean my so-called best friend is now dating my ex, but I've accepted it and moved on," Brina replied with a shrug. "I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. And besides, I have you guys. You're my real friends, and you're always here for me."
Maki smiled and hugged Brina. "Of course, we're here for you." Nobara chimed in, "And we can help you get rid of stuff that reminds you of her"
"Let's burn it!" Yuji exclaimed, earning a laugh from everyone. As they continued browsing through the store, the topic drifted back to Jade. "Do you think she's ok? Like really?" Nobara asked, her voice laced with worry.
"I don't know, she's pretty messed up right now," Yuji said as he took a pair of white tennis shoes off a display rack. He looked down at them and sighed. "But she's going to be all right... I know she can do it"
The girls nodded in agreement, then Yuji added, "So, what are your plans?" Brina shrugged again and said, "Honestly? I kinda wanna go home and sleep. but I got a date later" Brina smiled.
Yuji snapped his head towards her. "What?!" He shouted, causing Brina to flinch. If you guys remember I said Yuji and Brina are like siblings, well, he is basically like her other big brother.
So it's not a surprise when Brina says she has a date, Yuji's protective instincts kick in. "With who?" He asked, his tone serious.
"Nobodyyyy, move!" Brina yelped as Yuji kept reaching for her phone. "Come on, Brina, you can't just drop that bomb and not tell us who you're going out with," Maki said, a mischievous glint in her eye.
