The next morning, Megumi woke up to find the bed empty beside him. Brina wasn't anywhere in sight. Megumi groaned and stretched, pulling his legs out from underneath the covers. He grabbed his phone and checked the time.
The door opened and closed behind them. Megumi turned around to see who it was. Brina walked into the room with Mizu in her arms. "Good morning.." Brina yawned sleepily as she entered the room. "Oh, hey. You have Mizu with you?" Megumi asked.
Brina nodded in response and sat down on the futon. "Good morning to you too, little one," Megumi said while holding his hand out to her. Mizu hid her face in Brina's Chest. "She's shy and tired," Brina said, rubbing circles on her daughter's back.
"Oh, ok" Megumi nodded with a smile. Mizu looked up at him curiously. "Are you hungry?" Megumi asked. "Mmm!" Mizu whined, hiding her face again in Brina's chest. "And she's cranky too," Megumi muttered to himself.
Brina chuckled. "How are you feeling?" Megumi asked as he took a sip of tea. "Good, thank you," She replied, nodding toward the table as she sipped on her cup of tea. "So what are we going to do today?" Megumi asked.
"Just walk around New Orleans, for a while. There are some cool places. And we can go shopping, or eat dinner somewhere nice," Brina suggested. Mizu played with Brina's hair as she spoke. Just then there was a knock on the door.
Brina went to open it, revealing almost everyone in her friend group standing in the hallway, all holding bags of food and drinks. "We brought breakfast!" Yuta exclaimed, holding up a bag of pastries.
"Thanks so much, guys!" Brina exclaimed as they all made their way into the room. Mizu giggled as she saw her godparents and friends.
They all sat around the room, chatting and enjoying the delicious breakfast. "Wait a minute, You and Megumi only have one bed? How did you all sleep last night?" Jade asked with a mischievous grin.
