You Belong to Me

The Summons

Kim stared at his phone for the fifth time. He read every text that his Pa sent him. He knew he was in trouble, which is why he was ignoring the texts to begin with. He knows his Pa is probably furious that he was not there to protect him during the siege. Just as he was about to respond to the last text that was sent, his phone went off.

Kim: Hello

Korn: Meet me in my office, ASAP.

Kim: Hello to you to Pa.

Korn: Don't give me attitude, when can I expect you and why are you ignoring my messages?

Kim: I was composing and had my phone turned off. I just saw your messages and was about to reply when you called.

Korn: Oh, well when can be here?

Kim: Give me an hour to wrap up here, so, later this afternoon.

Korn: Just make sure it is today.

Kim: All right, gotta go.

Kim hangs up the phone. He has put this meeting off long enough but decides to put it off as much as possible. He knows shit is going to hit the fan between him and his Pa. He just hopes that Khun or Kinn is home to act like a buffer because he might actually try to kill him this time.

Kim arrives at the mansion and is walking to his Pa's office when he hears Chay talking. He knows he should not eavesdrop, but he just wants to hear his voice.

Chay: There is nothing wrong.

Top: Khun is worried about you and asked me here to speak with you. He says you never leave your room or go out anymore.

Chay: I am fine. Really, I am.

Top: I can tell something is wrong. You can talk to me, nothing you say to me will be repeated to anyone. We may not be in my office at the hospital, but I am still acting as your doctor.

Chay: I screwed up. I mean really screwed up.

Top: Wanna talk about it.

Chay: Not really, but as long you are not telling anyone, I might as well tell someone. I skipped my university entrance interview.

Top: Why did you do that?

Chay: My boyfriend and I broke up. Not that anyone knew we were dating. He said he just used me to get to someone else. I was only going to university because of him or so I thought.

Top: I see, how come you cannot talk to your brother about this?

Chay: My brother dropped me off at the University entrance. After he left, I dumped all of my stuff in the trash and did not show up.

Top: So how do you feel about it now?

Chay: I would love to attend university. I mean, I should not let what someone did to me keep me from my dream right?

Top: You are thinking in the right direction. How about you talk to Khun or Kinn. I bet one of them should be able to help you get into university. You could even talk to Kim. Since you want to go into the Music Faculty, he might be able to help you out?

Chay: Kim and I do not get along. I doubt he would help me.

Top: Would you like me to prescribe you something to help with your emotions? You do not have to feel bad about taking it. There are a lot of people who need something to help them get through emotional issues. I can tell you are depressed, whether it is from your breakup with your boyfriend or his betrayal, you are still depressed.

Chay: Can we not tell anyone? I do not want to be looked at differently.

Top: Yep, you can come to the hospital later today and pick up your prescription or I can bring it by this evening when I come to see Khun, but I would prefer you come and get it so we can get you scheduled for future visits.

Chay: Ok, I will have Khun bring me later this afternoon. Thank you.

Top: Chay, you do not have to worry, I will not say anything to anyone. Not even Khun. We might be dating, but I take my patients very seriously.

Top gets up and leaves Chay's room. Kim has to hurry to hide so he is not seen. He has tears coming down his face. He had no idea how Chay felt. Now he knows, which makes him feel even worse. He made Chay miss out on university. He is gonna have to talk to Kinn about fixing this for Chay, but what excuse can he give? He cannot tell his older brother that he was dating his boyfriend's younger brother and dumped in the worst conceivable way. He wonders how his life got so messed up. He peaks and notices that no one is in the hallway. He wipes his face and proceeds to his Pa's office, for once happy that he was summoned to the mansion.

He knocks on the office door and waits for his Pa to say enter. It did not take long, and his Pa opened the door, ushers him in, then shuts the door, and locks it. Kim already knows this is not going to be good. His Pa tells him to sit down. He carefully chooses a chair that he can get up from and protect himself should it become necessary.

Korn: Why weren't you here the other day?

Kim: What you got exactly what you wanted? Kun has been silenced, Porsche is in your debt, and Vegas and Macau are now under your control. I thought it worked out perfectly.

Korn: Don't get smart with me kid. I actually had to put a bullet in my brother's head.

Kim: I am sure you are losing sleep over it. I told you when you planned all this that I had something more important to do. Did you forget that I am Wik? I just cannot cancel my engagements on a whim. What excuse was I supposed to give?

Korn: I did not think of that. Though, knowing your uncle passed away, you looked good during your interview.

Kim, thinking to himself. Thankfully, that was a recorded interview from a few weeks ago before he broke up with Chay and was happy.

Korn: What's on your mind? You are not saying anything.

Kim: Pa, what exactly did you call me here for?

Korn: I want you to move into the mansion and before you say no, listen to my reasons.

Kim: Yeah, what are they?

Korn: Since Kun is gone, our competitors might see us as weak. Evan has been making moves. I have already lost some of my usual clients. I want all my kids under the same roof to protect them. I have sent extra bodyguards to the hospital to watch over Vegas and Macau.

Kim: I will think about it. I am not guaranteeing it.

Korn: Fine, I will expect you to be moved back in by the end of the week.

Kim gets up and leaves his Pas office. He cannot believe his Pa bought the whole Wik interview excuse. Kim wonders what his Pa would say if he realized that he lost some of his clients to him. He is now in control of Evan's empire. Maybe moving back in would be good. He could keep an eye on Chay better as well as know what his Pa is up to more. But that works both ways as his Pa will now know what he is up to. Oh well, he is good at keeping things a secret. As he walks out of the mansion he runs into Khun.

Khun: So, you do exist?

Kim: Nice to see you too, brother.

Khun: I am going to see my Dr. Top at the hospital, want to join me.

Kim: No, I have business to attend to.

Khun: Suit yourself. Oh, Chay, you are here. Have you met my youngest brother yet?

Chay just shakes his head and Kim just looks at him and then walks away before he says or does something that will cause more issues. As he is walking away, he hears Khun telling Chay not to worry about Kim because he is always like that. If Khun ever found out that he was not always like that with Chay, Khun would skin him alive. Kim had to hold himself back because he just wanted to run back to the car, pull Chay out, and give him the most passionate kiss he could. He gets into his car and drives away from the mansion while the tears stream down his face.
