10- Chores, homework and an unexpected visitor

Rose's pov

I wake up to find myself in bed, I think I remember Howard putting me in bed last night. Working in the workshop must have tired me out. Rolling over I see a note on my bedside table.

'Morning Rosebud,

Off to office and workshop to work on upcoming projects. Hope you slept well and ill see you when I get home

Howie'

I roll out of bed before heading to the bathroom to get ready. Once dressed I head down stairs to have some breakfast. I sat down for a simple breakfast of bread and marmalade. Whilst eating I read the newspaper that had arrived before washing up my dishes.

I moved to the cupboard to get the duster and the brush and pan. Moving to the front room I began dusting the shelves. I spent time making sure that there was no dirt or dust left. I then moved to clean the fireplace, I remembered in hadn't got a bucket to put the Ash in after sweeping it up.

I headed back to the cupboard to get the bucket and the mat before heading back to begin cleaning it out. I made a mental note to fetch some more wood in from the wood store outside so it was ready to light this evening. Every time I fill up the dustpan I carefully empty it into the bucket, I move the logs that were in the fire place onto the mat. I took the bucket with the Ash out to throw away before heading to the kitchen.

I filled up another bucket with water and some soap before carrying it back to the front room, I had to head back to get a cloth and brush for cleaning out and drying it down. 

I was just about to kneel down to begin again when there was a knock at the door. I get up and walk to the door to answer. There was a girl stood there.

'Hello' I say 'can I help you?' I ask. I notice she looks me up and down. 'Is Howard in?' She asks 'may I ask who wants him?' I ask her. She scoffs like she thinking 'did she really just ask that'. 'Melissa' she replies. 'I'm sorry Melissa, but Howard's not home at the moment' I reply 'well do you know where she is' Melissa asks. I do know where he is but I wasn't going to tell her 'I don't sorry.' I reply 'do you know when he will be back?' She ask snarky, 'no I dont. Please have a good day' I tell her before closing the door.

I returned to the fireplace I was cleaning it all down, once it was clean dried it off before picking up the basket for the wood and heading out to the wood store. I collected some wood and carried them inside, I place the basket by the fireplace before putting the logs in. I proceed to clean and put away everything I had used. By which time I realised it was lunch time.

I headed into the kitchen and made a corned beef sandwich with a glass of water. I began with my needlework homework. I began to sketch out the apron and dress before making a list, of what I needed from the haberdashers so I could head out after I had finished lunch.

Unknowns pov

I went to Howard Starks home, I always had a crush on him and I wanted to ask him out. I walk up the path to the door, I knocked the door and a girl opened it,

'Hello' she says 'can I help you?' She asks me. I look her up and down, slightly unimpressed as she was covered in dirt must be a maid. 'Is Howard in?' I ask 'may I ask who wants him?' She ask me i scoffs thinking 'did she really just ask that'. 'Melissa' I reply. 'I'm sorry Melissa, but Howard's not home at the moment' she replies 'well do you know where she is' I ask her  'I don't sorry.' She replies 'do you know when he will be back?' I ask snarky, I think she's lying by saying she doesn't know where she is, 'no I dont. Please have a good day' she tells me before closing the door. 

I ended up walking away, I'll have to try again sometime,  I don't get what her problem is, she can't be in a relationship with him. The only other person I have a crush on is Barnes but he is always hanging hanging around with that Rogers kid and some girl.

Buckys pov.

After getting home from school yesterday I hung up my before taking my bag upstairs 'is that you Jamie' ma called 'it is ma, I'll be down in a bit to give you a hand' I call back to her. I head into my room placing my bag by my desk getting out my homework that needed doing. I change out of my school clothes changing in to some old clothes which I wear when I'm cleaning, I help ma with making the fireplace.

I walk into the kitchen to get the bits I need 'hey ma' I say placing a kiss on her cheek 'hey Jamie, did you have a good day at school?' She asks 'I did spent lunch with Rose and Steve' I tell ma 'I'd love to meet Rose' ma says 'I'm sure she'd like to meet you ma' I say smiling 'I'm going to clean out the fire place then I'll help with tea' I say to ma.

I head to the cupboard pulling out the buckets filling one up with water and a bit of soap, I carry them through to the front room before heading back to the kitchen to get the old blanket, brush and pan. I head back to clean and remake the fire for tonight.

After finishing the fire I head back into the kitchen to help ma with tea, I set the table before calling Rebbeca when its ready. 'How was your day Becca?' I ask her 'it was good, saw you with Steve again at lunch' Rebbeca says smiling.

Rose's pov.

I went upstairs to change out of the clothes I was wearing into some clean clothes, I put on a shirt and trousers before slipping on my shoes. I pick up my purse and bag before heading downstairs to pick up my list.

I catch the bus into town, it was a short ride and it was soon time to get off. I begin walking along the high Street towards the haberdashers, it was nice and sunny but still had a lovely breeze.

'Hey Rose' a voice calls out from behind me.
