12 - talking about love

Rose's pov.

It was lunch time on Monday, when I went outside to our usual table to see steve sat there. 'Hey Steve' I call out as I approach the table 'hey Rose' Steve replies waving. 'How was your Sunday?' Steve asks. 'It was good. Met James at the haberdashers, his Sister Rebecca' I reply 'what do you think of her?' Steve asks 'I like her, got a good eye for fabric' I reply. 'What about you Steve?' I asked 'spent the time Sketching.' He replies 'you enjoy sketching don't you ' I ask. 'I do Rose. Your good too.' Steve replies.

'Hey guys' we both look to James waving at us.

Buckys pov.

I headed out for lunch and I saw Rose and Steve already at our table chatting. She looks so happy. I wonder if she has a crush on Steve, 'hi guys' I call out waving at them 'hey Buck' Steve replies 'hey James' Rose says smiling.

1 month later

Rose's Pov

'You okay Rose?' Howard asks 'I'm not sure Howie' I say with my head in my hands. I notice he moves beside me putting his arm around me, 'tell me what wrong' he says. 'It James and Steve' I say 'I think I like them both' I say 'they both like you too Bud' Howard says, I turn to face him 'I know but I think I'm In love with them both' I say.

Steve's pov

I was talking to Bucky as we at my place, 'you alright punk' Bucky asks 'I'm confused'  I say 'what are you confused about?' He asks me ' I think I'm in love'  I tell him 'that amazing news steve' he says smiling at me 'that's the thing buck' I begin 'I think I'm in love with two people, but I don't know how to tell them' I say. 'Take your time steve' Bucky says

Buckys pov.

I was sat at home with Rebecca 'you okay Jamie?' She asks me, ' I think I'm in love' I say she looks at me smiling 'with Rose?' She ask I nod whilst looking down 'what's wrong Jamie' she says 'I think I'm on love with Steve too' I tell her.

Rebeccas pov

I was meeting up with Rose. 'You okay Rose?' I ask. She looks up at me 'I think I'm in love' she says. 'That's good news right?' I ask 'it would be but' Rose starts ' I think I'm in love with two people' she says. 'James and Steve?' I ask. She nods 'please don't hate me' she says looking down 'hey Rose, I could never hate you. Okay' I say. 'I could tell you liked them both. I've seen you hanging out with them' I say 'plus when the four of us hang out I can tell how much they make you happy' I say. 'Have you told them?' I ask 'no, I don't know how. Only Howard know.' She says 'I was talking to him about it'

I knew what James had told me but I didn't want to tell her like I didn't want to tell him or Steve what we talked about, I wanted them to talk about it when they were all ready.

Rose's pov.

It's been 2 months since I first met James and Steve, we were sat in the park having a picnic when the conversation of love came up.

'So Rose anyone catch your eye' James asks me smiling. I look at both James and Steve, how do I tell them I like both of them. This was not the norm, and people frowned apon it too, I look down at my hands. 'Hey doll, take you time' James says smiling.

'I think I like both of you' I say whilst still looking down, 'we both like you to' Steve says. 'That's not what I mean' I say.  I felt like I couldn't say it. 'I'm sorry.' I say 'I've got to go' I say before grabbing my purse and running to mine and Howard's office.

Steve's Pov

'Did we say something wrong?' I ask Bucky 'I don't know' I reply. 'So where did she go?' I ask. 'I have an idea Steve, let's pack up and I'll take us.' Bucky replies. We pack up the picnic bits before Bucky leads us to a building

Buckys pov

I take Steve to the building where Rose and Howard's office and workshop is. We walk into the building and up to the reception desk 'Mr Barnes, how can I help?' They ask 'is Rose here?' I ask 'yes she's in their office' she replies 'thank you mam'  I reply. 'Come on Steve' i say leading him towards their office.

As we approach the door we hear crying I could just see through the partly closed blinds Rose sat on the floor crying with Howard sat by her.

Rose's pov.

I ran all the way to the office. When I reached it I saw that Howard wasn't here, I slid down one of the walls onto the floor just crying my eyes out.

'Rose?' A voice says I look to the door to see Howard, I look at him with tears streaming down my face. He rushes over 'what wrong rose' he asks, 'I couldn't do it' I say 'couldn't do what?'  He ask 'I couldn't tell them' I say in a whisper.

The was a knock at the door 'yes' Howard says, the door opens and James and Steve stood there. 'Rose, are you okay?' James asks. 'No' I say quietly 'can we come in?' Steve asks. I nod my head. They come and sit on the floor with me

'What's got you upset? Was it the question we asked?' James asks, I nod my head 'oh Rose, I'm sorry I asked that question' James says 'it's not your fault' I say. 'It's just that,' I begin ' I think I'm in love with both of you, I can't choose between you it's not fair to either of you'

Buckys pov

' I think I'm in love with both of you, I can't choose between you it's not fair to either of you' Rose says. Steve and I already knew how we felt about each other and that we both felt the same for Rose. 

I move to sit beside Rose, wrapping my arm around her, I look at Steve who nods 'Rose' I begin 'we both feel the same as you' I say. She looks up at us 'really?' She asks 'yes we do' Steve replies. 'But people won't accept it.' She says 'they won't accept the three of us' rose continues. 'I know that Rebecca does' I tell her 'she was talking through how I was feeling' I tell her 'I accept you too' Howard says.
