WARNINGS OF A PLANE CRASH

Northwest Airlink Flight 5719, registered as November 334 Papa Xray (N334PX), was a scheduled flight from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (IATA: MSP, ICAO: KMSP), Minneapolis, Minnesota to International Falls Airport (IATA: INL, ICAO: KINL), International Falls, Minnesota, with a scheduled intermediate stop at Chisholm-Hibbing Airport (IATA: HIB, ICAO: KHIB), Hibbing, Minnesota.
On the 1st of December 1993, the Jetstream 31, operated by Express Airlines as Northwest Airlink, collided with a group of trees in a forest during final approach to Hibbing, and the plane crashed into two ridges northwest of the airport, killing all sixteen passengers and the two pilots on board the plane (18 people in total).
The Jetstream 31 was not equipped with a ground proximity warning system (GPWS) that had already been made mandatory for larger aircraft, the aircraft continued it's descent through the 2,040 feet (620 meters) step-down altitude, the plane then struck the top of a tree, it continued to fly for 634 feet (193 meters) and it then struck a group of aspen trees, then finally the plane collide with two ridges and it came to a rest inverted and lying on it's right side.
The summary of the crash was Controlled Flight into Terrain due to Pilot error and lack of crew coordination and altitude awareness.
