The Watts family murder occurred in Frederick, Colorado, United States, during the early hours of the 13th of August 2018, Christopher Lee Watts, born on the 16th of May 1985, he is 38 years old, he admitted to murdering his pregnant wife, she was 15 weeks pregnant with a boy, his name was Nico, Shanann Cathryn Rzucek, born on the 10th of January 1984, died on the 13th of August 2018, she was 34 years old when she died, she was strangled by Chris, he later admitted to murdering their two daughters, four year old Bella Marie Watts, who was born on the 17th of December 2013, died on the 13th of August 2018 and her three year old sister Celeste Cathryn "CeCe" Watts, she was born on the 17th of July 2015, she died on the 13th of August 2018, the two girls were smothered by Chris with a blanket over their heads.
On the 6th of November 2018, Chris pleaded guilty to multiple counts of first degree murder as part of a plea deal when the death sentence (which was later abolished in Colorado in 2020) was removed from his sentence, he was sentenced to five life sentences without the possibility of parole, three of those life sentences were to be served consecutively.
