David Richard Berkowitz, born as Richard David Falco on the 1st of June 1953, he is 70 years old, he was also known as the Son of Sam and the .44 caliber Killer, he was an American Serial Killer who pleaded guilty to eight shootings that begun in New York City on the 29th of July 1976, Berkowitz grew up in New York and he even served in the Army.
Using a .44 special caliber bulldog revolver, he killed six people and wounded seven others by July 1977, terrorising New Yorkers and gaining worldwide notoriety, Berkowitz eluded the biggest police manhunt in the city's history while leaving letters that mocked the police and promised further crimes, which were highly publicised by the press.
Berkowitz was arrested on the 10th of August 1977 and was subsequently indicted for the eight shootings, he confessed to all of the shootings, he pleaded guilty to second degree murder and he was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences in State Prison with the possibility of parole after he served 25 years in prison.
His victim list is the following: Donna Laurie (18, she was killed on the 29th of July 1976, along with Jody Valenti), Jody Valenti (19, she was killed along with Donna Laurie), Carl Denaro (20, he was killed on the 23rd of October 1976, along with Rosemary Keenan), Rosemary Keenan (18, she was killed along with Carl Denaro), Donna DeMasi (16, she was killed on the 27th of November 1976, along with Joanne Lomino), Joanne Lomino (18, she was killed along with Donna DeMasi), Christine Freund (26, she was killed on the 30th of January 1977, along with John Diel), John Diel (30, killed along with Christine Freund), Virginia Voskerchian (19, she was killed on the 8th of March 1977), Alexander Esau (20, he was killed on the 17th of April 1977, along with Valentina Suriani), Valentina Suriani (18, she was killed along with Alexander Esau), Sal Lupo (20, he was killed on the 26th of June 1977, along with Judy Placido), Judy Placido (17, she was killed along with Sal Lupo), Stacy Moskowitz (20, she was killed on the 31st of July 1977, along with Robert Violante) and the final victim being Robert Violante (20, he was killed along with Stacy Moskowitz).
