Allegheny Airlines Flight 485, registered as November 5832 (N5832), was a regularly scheduled domestic passenger flight between Washington Dulles International Airport (IATA: IAD, ICAO: KIAD), Washington D.C and Newport Airport (IATA: PHF, ICAO:KPHF), Newport News, Virginia in the United States, the plane had three stop overs, the first was to Groton Airport (IATA: GON, ICAO: KGON), Connecticut and the second stop over would be at Tweed New Haven Regional Airport (IATA: HVN, ICAO: KHVN), Connecticut and the third stop over was at Philadelphia International Airport (IATA: PHL, ICAO: KPHL), Pennsylvania.

On the 7th of June 1971, the Allegheny Airlines, Convair CV-580, operating the flight crashed on approach to Tweed New Haven Regional Airport, New Haven county, Connecticut, only the First officer and two passengers survived the crash, the fire after the plane crashed killed 28 people (31 people were on board).
