Said Tara looking at Mindy
"That is one possible heroes now in collage check suspicious new characters bought in to round out the suspect list" said Mindy looking at Ethan "and or body count check, check and check" said Mindy point at others "I don't like this" whispered Ethan 'but it can't just be about stab two" said Mindy "why not?" You asked
"It would make sense if this was just a sequel but we're not in a sequel because nobody just makes sequels anymore!" Yelled Mindy you wish she could keep her voice down everyone was silent for a moment "were in a franchise!" Yelled Mindy smiling
"And there are certain rules to continuing a franchise" said Mindy "I had a feeling" said Anika with a sigh "rule one everything is bigger than last time bigger budget bigger cast bigger body count longer chases shoot outs beheadings you got to top what came before to keep people coming back" said Mindy walking back and forth
"Beheadings?" Said Chad looking at her "beheadings rule two whatever happened last time except the opposite franchises only survive by subverting expectations if the killer last time were winy snowflake film nerds with letterbox accounts instead of personalities you can bet the opposite will be true here" said Mindy as Ethan looks down
You sigh and lay your head on Quinn's shoulder you were getting tired of listening to her talk you just wanted to go home already "are you okay?" Asked Quinn putting a hand around your shoulder as you nodded "and rule three no one is safe legacy characters? Cannon fodder at this point" said Mindy still walking around
"Usually bought back only to be killed off in some cheap bid for nostalgia it's not looking too good for gale and Kirby oh and that's not even the worst" said Mindy smiling "oh this is the party where she tells us the worst part" said Chad as you let out a small laugh did you really need to know all this?
"The worst part is franchises are just continuing episodic installments designed to boost an IP which means main characters are completely expendable now too Laurie strode, Nancy Thompson, Ellen Ripley, Sally hardesty, Jigsaw, Tony stark, James Bond I mean even luke Skywalker" said Mindy looking at the sky
"They all died so their franchises could live on that means it's not just the friend group any of us could go at any time especially Sam, Tara and y/n" said Mindy looking at the three of you "wait any of us?" Said Ethan as Mindy looks at him "yeah" whispered Mindy "am I in the friend group?" Asked Ethan
"Yeah" said Mindy "am I like one of the targets?" Said Ethan "mhm" said Mindy "am I gonna die a virgin?" Said Ethan as you lift your head up to look at him did he really just say that? "That was a weird over share but it brings us to our certain suspects" said Mindy smiling awkwardly
"You heard that? He's a virgin" whispered Quinn in your ear with a smile making your face heat up"shut up" you whispered "what was that y/n?" Said Mindy looking at you "huh? Oh nothing" you said feeling a bit embarrassed "okay moving on" said Mindy looking away from you
"Hey wait aren't you a virgin?" Whispered Quinn again "Quinn I swear to God" you said moving away from her "Ethan the shy dorky guy who no one suspects because he's so shy and dorky and can barely talk to a carpenter sister" said Mindy walking over to him then looking at you as everyone looks at you
But before you could say anything Ethan starts talking "okay why am I in the suspect list? Because I'm randomly Chads roommate and friends with a carpenter sister?" Said Ethan "did he just friend zoned you?" Said Quinn in a whisper "I don't care" you whispered back
"Roommate lotteries can be juked you could have fixed it to get next to us and maybe you heard that y/n is sam's sister so you thought if you got closer and befriended her to act like you're trying to protect her just so no one would ever know it's you then the next you know you stab her in the back after you made her fall in love with you" said Mindy
"Huh?" You thought to yourself looking over to him "that's... That's not true I would never do anything to hurt her she knows that" said Ethan looking over to you "does she?" Said Sam looking at him with a half glare no Ethan wouldn't hurt you... Would he? "Moving on" said Mindy looking at Quinn and walking over to her
"Quinn the slutty roommate a horror movie classic" said Mindy smiling "sex positive but thank you?" Said Quinn at her "mhm um how did you come to live with Sam, Tara and y/n" asked Mindy "I answered their ad online" said Quinn look at you guys as Sam nods her head
"Okay say no more you already implicated yourself enough" said Mindy walking away from her "what the fuck" whispered Quinn "it was an anonymous ad Mindy and you know we vetted her plus her dad is a cop" said Tara you didn't want to believe Quinn was the killer since you guys were good friends
"And that makes it more likely that she's the killer because having a cop dad is a great cover do you not remember how these movies work tara!" Yelled Mindy in Tara's face "is she always like this?" Said Quinn facing you "yeah you will get used to it" you said "and finally Anika" said Mindy as Anika blows her a kiss and Mindy returns it
"Never trust the love interest" said Mindy as Anika smile falls "okay so we have our rules and we have our suspects" said Sam "but wait what about you guys?" Said Ethan looking at you guys "I mean I think it's pretty safe to rule out the five of us we went through this last year in woodsboro" said Mindy crossing her arms and looking at him
"Agreed" said Chad smiling "um not agreed what if the trauma you all went through caused one of you or more to snap?" Said Quinn as you guys looked at her "yeah or the fame you got from the killings made you thirsty for more I mean to be honest here some of the theories online about Sam..." Said Ethan but gets cut off by Tara
"Don't you fucking dare" said Tara as Ethan stops talking "okay she's right though I mean face facts if we're all suspects you're all suspects" said Anika after you guys were done talking Sam instead that everyone went to the apartment of course they agreed making you happy since ethan will be there
