I spent the next two days busy with a case I was assisting Miss Hong with. Miss Hong normally doesn't take a case unless it's a high profile case. And this one was exactly that. A celebrity was framed for a homicide and Miss Hong was in charge of defending him. It's a complicated case as it is high profile. So I had to follow Miss Hong around collecting evidences.

These two days I haven't been able to spend much time with Suyeong and even got back home later than I normally do.

Today's Saturday and I spent the whole day at the law firm.

I woke up early and spent some time working on the case. Then got Suyeong ready for school, sent her to school on my way to Jipuragi. I didn't even have enough time to go pick up Suyeong from school. In this crisis Kang Yohan became very helpful as he agreed voluntarily to pick up Suyeong and spend the day with her.

Even though I didn't want to, I let Yohan take Suyeong to the supreme court. Because my house is a no no. And Yohan's house is still an unknown territory for both of us.

I didn't know how long it would take for me to finish the notes on the case for today so I intended on calling Yohan and let him send her to me at Jipuragi.

But even before I could call, a call came to me. It was from a police officer I acquainted with for a case.

"Hello Officer Seo." I said confused as to why the officer would call me.

"Lawyer Kim. Your daughter is here at the police station. Will you please come and pick her up?"

An emotionless voice reached me through the reciever.

My heart started racing. Suyeong at the police station? Why?

But I didn't say anything as I hung up and rushed to Seoul central police station. On my way I was panicking if something happened. Because I can't stand if something really happened to her. She's my only family. But Officer Seo said she was at the police station, so nothing serious I hope.

As I parked in front of the police station, I saw a few people getting out of the police station. They looked like reporters. But due to the concern about Suyeong I didn't pay much attention. I rushed into the office looking for my daughter on the way.

When I reached Officer Seo I saw him standing and talking to some other police officer. And bypassing him my vision fell on a man in a suit, sitting there carrying my daughter on his lap.

Kang Yohan.

He had his coat taken off and his shirt looked crinkled. But he held Suyeong with so much tenderness. I walked towards him.

"Kang Yohan ssi!"

Kang Yohan looked up at me. His long unruly locks parted in front of his forehead and a red mark peeked from behind those locks most probably hiding a wound.

A police officer called me out.

"Are you Mr. Kim Gaon? Kim Suyeong's father?"

I nod while turning. "Yes."

He pointed to the seat in front of him, indicating for me to sit down. And I followed.

"According to Judge Kang, some people followed Suyeong and they later confessed to be reporters. Judge Kang took your daughter away in his car as he hit it on the side of the underpass."

"An accident?"

I asked in a hushed voice. I couldn't believe my baby was hurt like that. Getting a nod as an answer I proceeded to ask.

"You said reporters followed Suyeong?"

"Yes, Kim Gaon ssi. Though we warned them with a fine and put out a restraining order. I would like to know if you would press charges or not."

I thought for a few seconds. Then shook my head. I had an idea why the reporters would follow Suyeong. But I don't have enough strength to fight with them.

But a deep voice rang out from behind me stopping me in my track.

"Excuse me, officer." As Kang Yohan said he stood up while still carrying Suyeong. "Can you give us a moment?"

I looked up at his face trying to gauge the emotions in his eyes. But it was too hard. As I followed him outside to a secluded corridor by the staircase, he stopped and turned around to face me.

His face trying to discern everything that's going through in my heart. He then made a motion to give Suyeong to me. And I took her. The sleepy child gave a comfort I was craving all this time. She made me calm as I made sure she was okay. Holding her in my embrace I felt secure in myself. As if she was there and everything was okay.

"Kim Gaon ssi. I want you to press charges against them."

Kang Yohan said in the middle of our father daughter reunion.

"I can't." I said it out loud. The concern in my heart that was eating me alive came out so easily with just a little coercion.

"Gaon ah. Can you tell me?"

I looked up not understanding the question. Or maybe I did. I just didn't want to admit it. I wanted to leave my past behind. I want to stay away from all the dirty games played in the upper circle that Dahyeon came from. But the past was chasing here again. And I didn't know how to fight back.

I wasn't this weak. But now I feel like there's no weaker person than me.

Looking at me standing silently, he continued.

"Gaon ah, we can sue them for invading privacy and threatening a child's safety. But they'll escape without any consequences of you let them! Don't you want to protect Suyeong from this happening again?"

I couldn't answer except that I can't. "I can't. I can't stand aginst them. They have money to push a case down but I can't!"

"Gaon ah. If that's what you're afraid of, I'll help you. If you're afraid that you can't protect Suyeong alone, I'll protect you both. Will you let me?"
