Things with Madison and Cal had been going well. She knew that they both wanted to make it work. Not just for each other. But for the sake of their baby.

Madison knew she didn't want to raise a baby on her own. It wasn't how she wanted to be a parent. She wanted to have the perfect family for her baby.

She knew how Cal had been spending a lot of time with her. They had been taking things slowly. It was what Madison needed.

All she knew was that she was going to do everything she could to make it work with her and Cal. Despite how hard it was.

Morning came and she woke in bed. She saw Cal walking in. He handed her a bacon sandwich. "You have to keep strength up for the sake of the baby."

Madison smiled as she looked to him. She took the plate and grinned. "You and I... we can do this can't we?" She asked.

Cal sat with her and smiled. "I know we can. It won't always be easy. But I know we can do it," he told her.

Madison cuddled into him. She sighed. "I can't imagine doing this without you. You're the father of my baby. And I want us to be together forever," she said.

"Trust me. I'm going nowhere."

"Good."

Madison went into work. Cal was on later shift. She saw Esmè and walked over to her. "Hey. How's it going with Iain?" She asked.

Esmè shrugged. She smiled. "It's okay. We're just taking things slow. And it's not easy. How are things with you and Cal?"

"They're good. We're trying to make it work for the sake of the baby. I don't want to lose him. He's my everything. And the love of my life," Madison said.

"I think you can do it. You're going to be the best mummy you can. You've always looked after me."

Madison grinned. "That's the job of older sister. I have to look out for you and Grace. My favourite little sisters."

"Less of the little if you will. I'm an awesome sister."

"Debatable."

Madison smiled as she saw Connie. Connie looked to her. "How are you feeling?" She asked.

"I'm okay. Just wanting to make it work with Cal for the sake of our little bean," she told her.

Connie smiled. She knew how she hadn't been the best mum to her girls. But she was trying. She wanted to do better.

Madison looked to her. "Are to excited to be a granny?"

"I am as it goes."

Madison saw Cal as he walked over to her. He kissed her cheek. "You've got a surprise waiting for you when you get home."

"Oh? Is it you wrapped up in a red ribbon?"

Cal smirked and shook his head. "I wish it was. But it's not. You have to wait until you get home to see it," he told her.

Madison looked to him and smiled. She knew that she was going to make it work. No matter how hard it was. But would it work the way she was hoping it would?
