This is the second part to the first book "Revenge on my Cheating boyfriend". It is one you'd have to read to understand the second one. Enjoy!

Ana's pov

2 weeks.

That's how long I had to stay in the hospital before they felt comfortable enough to release me into my mothers care. If you ask me what happened, I wouldn't be able to tell you. I truly don't remember anything.

I was packing my car with the last few boxes when, suddenly, everything went dark. The doctor said I was extremely lucky to be alive. They said I was hit with something, a blunt instrument, most likely a bat. I had a nice gash that required stitches and partial hearing loss.

They hoped that part was temporary.

When my neighbour found me I was lying in a pool of my own blood and looked like I had been dead for a while.

As they worked on me in the ambulance, I was in pretty rough shape and began seizing. I was told, again and again, that I gave everyone a pretty significant scare.

The EMTs brought me to my old hospital so at least  I had a lot of company throughout the day. It was one of the brighter sides of this horrible circumstance.

Detective Monroe took on my case despite being a fraud investigator. Due to our previous history, she stated She had a vested interest in my well being and felt that I was given a number of shitty hurdles in life. She seemed to genuinely care and was eager to help. I was truly thankful for her being involved and It made me feel better knowing she was taking the lead on this. I couldn't explain why, but it did.

For the first few days in the hospital, Cole was there daily. Because I never got around to changing my next of kin, the hospital automatically called him. He wouldn't leave my side until I woke up and realized he was there. Once I knew, he was no longer allowed in my room.

He made a scene the first day they told him he wasn't able to see me but left when he saw it was causing me additional stress. My mother and Monroe told me he called and texted, constantly, but luckily I didn't have to see or deal with it. I wasn't allowed to look at my phone screen until I healed and the headaches stopped.

I asked if anyone else messaged me.

Terry, Michael, Luka, a few doctors and nurses I worked with. Friends from back home.

Not Marcus though....which stung.

He sent flowers. A big and beautiful bouquet that must have costs hundreds of dollars with a note tucked inside.

"Hope you heal soon Ana.  Take care, Marcus"

The take care really hammered things home. It would have been better if he sent nothing at all.

I sighed and looked out the window as the cab stopped in front of a modern looking apartment building.  It was about 8 stories high with large windows and big balconies. The landscaping surrounding the building was also immaculate.  I raised an eyebrow at my mom and wondered how she found this place. My mom is an amazing woman, but she requires help turning on a computer.

"I hope you'll love it" she smiled and quickly averted eye contact.

"Mhhmmm" I responded and clicked my tongue. I had questions but was going to hold off until we were alone. Her Having an audience would only help her temporarily.

The wonderful cab driver helped us with our bags and brought them upstairs.  I didn't look or feel that great so the help was greatly appreciated.

As soon as he left and the door closed I glared at my mom.

"Spill it. How did you find this place? And why haven't you told me about it. I assumed we were staying at a hotel until we found something together"

"A Hotel wouldn't have been adequate. You need natural sunlight, a quiet and clean place to rest, and I need a kitchen to cook and take care of you." She stated with a hint of annoyance and I knew she was hoping I would drop it.

"But how did you find it?" I asked again as I took it all in. To say the place was beautiful was a complete understatement, it was gorgeous. Our apartment was on the top floor and had 2 levels. The place was open and bright and the large windows allowed for a ton of natural light. The kitchen was tucked away in the corner and the whole place had massively tall ceilings. The white staircase led to the upper floor where you could see 2 doorways to what I assumed were 2 rooms.

It was already furnished with minimalist furniture that flowed perfectly. The sitting chairs and couch were black leather with brown wooden arm rests. The coffee and dining table were made from glass. The walls were a bright white with a few pieces of art placed strategically to make them appear even longer.

The whole place fit a certain style of a certain someone.

"I'm waiting" I sat and continued my glare. I wanted answers and she knew I wouldn't stop asking until I got them.

"Ok. Fine." She took a dramatic Pause between the two words, "It was Marcus. He gave us this apartment. Said we, or you, can live here as long as you want. It's his building so he said it wouldn't be any trouble. He also picked out the furniture and made sure you had everything you needed for coming home."

I sat there stunned and confused.

He hasn't talked to me in a month but gets me a place.

Furnishes it.....

I walked up to the fridge and opened it. Just as I assumed, he Stocked it with food.

I made my way up the stairs to take a look at the two bedrooms. Both came with their own ensuites which was convenient, but as I glanced around,  a piece of my heart melted.

I knew which room was meant for me immediately. Marcus furnished it to duplicate the guest room in his home.

The one I stayed in, and was meant to stay longer, as he helped to clear my name.

I sat down on the bed and had the sudden urge to call him. The least I could do is say thank you for the apartment and the flowers.

I found my phone and dialled his number, swallowing the giant lump that I felt in my throat. I couldn't remember the last time I felt this nervous calling anyone.

I put the phone to my ear and listened.

One ring, two rings, three rings. Finally a soft voice picked up.

"Hello. Marcus's phone. He's a bit busy right now but I can relay a message"

The greeting was followed by laughter and the phone call ended.  I looked at my phone and placed it down on my bed.

I closed the door and decided to put this day to rest.  I was tired, needed sleep and wanted to forget that call ever happened. I turned the lights off, emptied my mind, and allowed sleep to take me away from all my troubles.
